Nice size room very clean. Our room was on the 9th floor we looked out onto an office building which made the room very dark. Very Good Location. We booked room only over the internet but there is a restaurant where you can have breakfast. We signed up to hotel newsletter and got free internet and newspaper. The reception staff... More

Whist staying at the Citigate last week - i booked a room with a king bed... When I arrived I was told there was only twin singles available... After explaining several times on the importance of a king/queen/not single bed - I was told the only option would be to pay for an upgrade... I was checking in late that... More

We booked this room through an online website that unfortunately stuffed up our booking, apparently we were supposed to have arrived the night before. The staff at the front desk told me I would have to take this issue up with the company I booked it through-it took me about 2 hours to get through to them and no-one was... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night and I cannot agree with the previous comments because it is our third stay at this hotel and I cannot fault it. We had a city view room which had plenty of room and lovely and clean with a nice bathroom. The staff on reception were lovely and friendly and also the... More

Supposedly this hotel is a 4.5 star hotel. I would consider it a 3 star. My husband and I only stayed for 1 night last week as we were going to a concert and didn't want to travel home afterward so we thought we would make a night of it. As I work in the Travel Industry I was able... More

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. Quite shabby, certainly not up to a standard. Rooms were not cleaned properly. Bottle, ice bucket, glasses etc left on side for 2 days! Also $100 actually charged to our account( not just held ) and so far not refunded.

If you're looking for a hotel that's a good price, with a GREAT location, then this hotel is probably for you. Staff at the Citigate on Flinders st in Melbourne's CBD are great - very helpful, cheerful and polite.  We stayed in a room on floor 12, at the back of the hotel and the views are as to be... More

The hotel is in an excellent location. Check in was very friendly and professional. Room was small with a view that made one feel as if they were in prison. Bathroom was clean but dated. Breakfast was included in the price but the "restaurant" wasn't up to scratch, staff didnt clear tables, no cutlery, dirty glassware, unhelpful staff etc... In... More

We headed to the city just before Christmas to do some last minute shopping. The Citigate was an ideal spot, right in the heart of the city, close to the shops and a nice walk to Southbank for dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only complaint I would make about this place is the size of the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the hotel to be a great base for exploring Melbourne CBD. We had a great view from our room over the Flinders Railway Station and the Yarra River to Southbank. The room was a reasonable size and was pretty clean aside from some marks on the armchairs. The king bed was quite... More
