Very friendly staff on the desk made us feel very welcome. Room on eighth floor was clean and quiet with a very comfy bed. No view just hard up against next door building and this is probably why I got such a good sleep as no noise, The bathroom not so great. Nearly slipped over in the bath/shower. Had to... More

Location to public transport always a plus if your watching the budget. A brisk 15 minute walk to the Queen Victoria Markets. Seven minutes to the Bourke Street Mall. The City Circle Tram will get you to the Docklands Precinct. North bound tram 55 to the Melbourne Zoo. Young & Jackson Hotel with the beautiful1875 'Chloe' Painting a mere 2... More

This is the second time we have stayed here and will be back! The room smelt lovely and fresh, nice size, comfy beds, great bathroom, great service, awesome location. Definitely recommend it. Awesome cafes around the corner, walking distance to the tram. 10 min walk to DFO, Melbourne aquarium, Melbourne central shopping. Fantastic value for such a great place to... More

I got a great-value mystery deal on Wotif....as all I needed was a bed and a shower before an early flight the following day. Service at check-in was quick and friendly and the room was large, clean and very well presented. However, my room was located on the second floor overlooking an alley/laneway at the back of the building....and there... More

I got this for a real bargain so did not have great expectations. The location was superb and although fairly sparse, the room really had everything we needed and the bed was very comfy. What impressed me most was the pleasant staff. It was a pleasant surprise.

My two days in Melbourne turned into a nightmare, not because of the hotel, but because I injured my knee badly getting to the hotel from the station to check in. And the staff were just wonderful. They gave me the high, quiet room with a bath I had requested, on floor 6, which was great and were kind, helpful... More

Had a conference and stayed a few nights. Was told I was upgraded which was a nice surprise as I was paying around $190 per night. Biggest disappointment was the bathroom- white shower curtain, odd tiles, some cracked and a few big black hairs left from previous occupier. Staff friendly and always happy to help.

Had only one night at the Citigate but were very impressed. A very clean and modern hotel with knowledgeable and helpful staff and great facilities. Location couldn't be better - right in the CBD with trains and trams right outside the front door. Will definitely stay again.

Couldn't ask for a better location. Right across for Flinders Street station. Short walk to Casino, MCG, CBD. Room was clean and comfortbale. I wanted a quiet room that was quite dark as I generally stayed out late and this room was excellent in that regard. Room was well appointed and had everything needed. Great hotle.

The first Hotel in our trip of Australia. Great Location with all the major attractions at walking distance of 10 minutes. Comfortable & Spacious Rooms. Flinders Station is just opposite the Hotel. Federation Square is 2 minutes walking Distance. The Breakfast needs a lot more variety to be added.
