Imagine looking at a hotel on the net and seeing something that creates a sense of 'WOW'. This happened to me when booking this hotel for a weekend away for my anniversary with my partner. Unfortunately it was not to be the 'WOW' factor i was expecting for the price paid (well over $500 for 2 night). Check in only... More

This place is all about location, location, location and only location.Forget about everything else!!Its just a tiny budget hotel. On the left is Woolsworth store for all your grocery needs and a couple of bakeries, if you walk down further right and make a right turn there's Coles with great bargains.Opposite is the train station and tram station. This hotel is overrated... More

We found the room to be very comfortable, a little small, great comfy bed and nice bathroom but unfortunately we had no natural light in the room as it was so close to the building next to it. Also being opposite Flinders St station albeit central it wasn't the nicest part of town to be staying in and its a... More

This is a decent Hilton property. Staff were friendly. The rooms were comfortable. It is an excellent location in downtown Melbourne. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety. They had free wifi for Hilton members if you book on line. There was no executive club for gold or diamond members. The meeting rooms were fine for business meetings. The... More

Looks just like the pics, rooms clean and tidy. Staff were lovely and helpful at all times. Offered cookie on arrival and again when second guest arrived. Cookies were the best part of the stay, aswell as walking into the lobby and smelling delicious coffee at all hours of the day.

this was an average hotel in a central location. Being used to the American Doubletrees with their big rooms this hotel was a disapponitment. Extremely small room and very uncomfortable small single bed. Continental breakfast was okay and reception staff friendly.

Stayed back in October 2015 for AFL grand final weekend as a Hilton Hhonors Gold member on points + pay. Hotel is great for accessing the CBD and is opposite Flinders Station. Received an upgrade to a top floor room upon check-in however I was unable to check in early after arriving at the hotel at 9am after a 7.5hr... More

As we were going to the theatre at Hamer Hall in the Art Center we thought a night at a hotel would be great . It was Perfect just across the river from the show ,couldn't be better.A very comfy bed and a fantastic view, a very trendy and slightly industrial hotel (downstairs) Modern and minimal upstairs .We were on... Very very central opposite Flinders Street Station. Despite this rooms were quiet at night. Clean and comfortable - no diamond upgrade offered on check in Breakfast Buffet OK but on one morning so busy was very difficult to get a seat and my table was given away TWICE whilst getting food from the buffet! Wifi worked well. 24 hour gym... More

The room in this hotel are definitely on the small side. I have seen smaller in New York City but that's about the only place. They have 3 lifts. During my stay one lift never functioned, another was out of service for a day and 3rd at times was being used construction purposes even though there is a separate staff... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
