Had a lovely stay at Citigate Hotel @ Flinders! Both rooms we'd booked were great and clean. Checking-in was a breeze and the staffs were phenomenal and helpful. Beds were surprisingly comfortable although I had some doubts beforehand when one of the reviews said the beds were thin but I find it absolutely fine and comfy. Only downside was the... more

We fly in from LAX - able to check in early! Front desk was very helpful (and always pleasant). Room was standard, fully stocked bar. Being from the US, we didn't realize that we had to book a nonsmoking room. We stayed for 3 nights, and housekeeping did a great job each day. Great/convenient location. We stayed on 6th floor... more

We had a lovely stay here at the Citigate on Flinders St. Perfect location for exploring the city, and fantastic, helpful staff. The rooms are nicely decorated with fine amenities. We were disappointed that the bed was quite thin and not particularly comfortable. A few more stations on the television would've been nice too... The hall/room had a faint odor... more

Such a great place to stay to see Melbourne, ask for the up grade to river views.....outstanding! The hotel staff were also just superb....couldn't ask for more. You can't miss out on the Curry Place right next to the hotel entry! Cheap as and amazing! Hotel even supplied plates etc so we could have it in our room and enjoy... more

This is my 2nd visit to this hotel. And things have improved. I was in Melbourne to attend the Melbourne Comedy Festival. As such, I was in my room to sleep and freshen up in the late afternoon. My room was on the 13th (top) floor. The room didn't have much of a view (other than the building next door),... more

The hotel is in a very good location, many shops nearby. BUT i really feel uncomfortable within a room which has NO window. There is a fake window though with a light on the top which can NOT be turned off, so it's really annoying at night and i could not sleep well. I acutally have learned this issue before... more

We were in Melbourne for one day on our way back to USA. We booked a room with a view of the train station. I read some reviews about how the windows were not clean when looking at this spectacular view, which I have to agree with. The room was clean and a good size with a queen bed. The... more

Stayed at the Citigate for four nights, our room wasn't huge but adequate for a city break. The location was excellent, tram stop outside and central to all shops/River. Just like any central location in a city it had a different feel at night although didn't feel unsafe. The breakfast was good and had a variety on offer. Only negatives... more

Recently stayed here with a large tour group that included youngsters and was very impressed. The reception staff were superb and the facilities great. Breakfast was first class as was the 'bar scene' in the evening. I will definitely return here when in Melbourne again. more

Decided to stay at Citigate as we had a Work Christmas function to attend along the Yarra River. Used Citigate's own website to book a River View room as we had decided to make the most of the weekend. Spectacular view of the Yarra, but the windows were dirty. It was a very wet, windy day and the wind just whistled... more
