Husband and I stayed here on 7/8/2013, Got the deal through Expedia, and it was very cheap. Arrived around 5pm. Reception staff were very cheerful and helpful. Room was so clean and the bathroom was spotless. Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and TV in room. Bed very comfortable. Can order snack meals to room and breakfast is available. Good... Little Bourke Ibis epitomises the title of my review. 24hr reception is very helpful, as are the staff. Not much more to add, other than I'd prefer to have a continental breakfast option rather than full hot breakfast only.

The Hotel was situated where it was convenient for all our activities in Melbourne. The staff were very helpful, professional, and most of all friendly. The Breakfast scrambled eggs and bacon were exceptionally good and I asked that my congratulations be passed onto the chef.

I enjoyed my stay here. The price was very good for the location. Fantastically close to the bus station and reasonable walking distance to the city centre. Good room size, nice and clean with everything working as advertised. Most of the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and greeted me cheerily as I came in or out - a... More

If you are arriving into Melbourne City by train or the shuttle from the airports then this hotel couldn't me more conveniently located. It's right down the bottom of little Bourke street at the Spencer street station end. Rooms are small but not too small -you'll be very comfortable. Decor is very modern and clean and price is very good.... More

Given that my friend and I did not pay a lot of money to stay in the hotel, our room was ok. The room was small and the bath did not really fit me or my friend at all (approximately 163-165cm tall). It is normal for people to store their luggages in the hotel after they check in so that... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
