There's nothing wrong with this hostel. Sure it's a little old and worn out but it's the location that sucks. There's a decent cafe within the hostel but if that's shut it's a fair old hike to get food. The highlight is the roof area. The common areas downstairs are just too small, especially when the dinning area is reserved... More

Stayed for 8 nights in an 8 share dorm while visiting Melbourne. Hostel has great facilities: big kitchen & dining area, big common room downstairs, good sized TV/reading room, another common room. My only criticisms are: (1) toilets can get quite grotty (2) walls and doors throughout hostel are grimy so could do with a sugar soap (3) shower cubicles... More

Small, very basic room but was sufficient for our needs as we did not spend much time in it Handy to get to a concert in Melbourne zoo but quite a hike to other places, could be noisy at times but not unbearably so. The bed was ok, not especially comfortable but not horrible either, however the shower badly needs updating, no... More

I don't know if it was because it was winter or because it's not the central yha but this hostel was empty, me and my friend had a 8 bed dorm to ourselves the whole weekend which we thought was great. It really close to central took us five minutes to walk in the main shopping district and right next... More

I stayed here several times in August 2014. The great thing for me at that time was the secure carpark. Period. It did have a very good kitchen and laundry facility too. Wifi was avalable and was the BEST available in the 8+ yha hostels I stayed at in OZ this year.

I stayed in a quadshare at the YHA Metro for a couple of nights. The room was nice, the lockers are a little on the small side, but I still could fit everything in. There was a desk in the room, and lots and lots of sockets. There even was a floorlenght mirror. The bathrooms were clean - I was... More

I frequently visit Melbourne usually stay with YHA. When I have a need to rent a Car I usually stay here because street parking is plentiful and have no issues with noise due to its location in a quiet residential suburb. Location is not right in the city centre but a tram stop is close by. Place always seems to... More

I stayed here three nights and I really liked this place! It's YHA quality, so it's clean and tidy and well organized. We had a car and we could park in the hostel parking lot ($7 per day, which is not too bad). The staff at reception was kind and helpful, the kitchen was big and well equipped and clean,... More

This was an acceptable YHA and okay place to rest my head. It is pretty far from the central part of Melbourne but still walkable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was okay. Bathroom was a bit dirty. The roof top view is really beautiful.

We stayed as a couple, but in both separate and mixed dorms to save cash. Pros: Huge kitchen Lovely clean rooms Friendly place A variety of travellers here. Chilled out Activities provided Cafe Good wifi Nice view from rooftop Rooftop lounge with BBQ outside Great location near Vic Market Cons: Showers are ok, but a little bit tired-looking.
