Booked here after doing the ocean road, wanted to leave our bags whilst we dropped the car off but they have no luggage room, had to pay $2 for a locker in the car park. Stayed in a 8 bed. The room was nice, but cramped and there was a lack of plugs. It surprisingly didn't get too how even... More

The hostel itself and the location is nice. Very easy to get around with the tram or walk. I recommend staying on a wednesday and go to the night market - It is amazing :) I felt this is the worst YHA I have stayed in on my 2 month trip regarding service. I booked 2 nights there and was... More

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel was very clean and well looked after. The kitchen was quite large and had every appliance including an oven, which has been hard to come by at most hostels.

This hostel was always clean and the staff were friendly and helpful (they managed to change my friend's room so that she could share with me as we had booked separately - much appreciated!). I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm and we had lockers beside our beds and reading lights (which are always handy when you don't want... More

Was seeking a private room convenient for city and cheaper than hotels - this served the purpose well. Handy for trams and only short journeys to Flagstaff or Flinders St stations. Also within walking distance of some of Melbourne's great coffee houses, such as Di Bella on Leveson St. Was sceptical about the location being quiet, but not being too... More

As we arrived in Melbourne, very comfortable with two Airporter-Bus directly to Hostel, we've been very tired. We had a 4-Bed-Mixed-Room. We slept very good. The staff at the reception is very friendly and we got lot's of helpful hints for town. The kitchen is huge and crowded and not always the cleanest, but that is because of so many... More

This place is clean, tidy and seems to be well maintained. But it's so noisy. The walls are no barrier to the sounds that carry between them. People are on the go 24 hours here and it seems like they're telling to each other. I asked my neighbours to keep the noise down at 1:30 am and I was grateful... More

It's awful that I was mislead that on the level of the dorm room I was staying that there's no shared t.v lounge room(like on all the levels-only a t.v room on level 3 & on the ground floor that don't turn into all the major channels),but when I watch regular shows the channels won't tune into them! The showers were... There's nothing wrong with this hostel. Sure it's a little old and worn out but it's the location that sucks. There's a decent cafe within the hostel but if that's shut it's a fair old hike to get food. The highlight is the roof area. The common areas downstairs are just too small, especially when the dinning area is reserved... More

Stayed for 8 nights in an 8 share dorm while visiting Melbourne. Hostel has great facilities: big kitchen & dining area, big common room downstairs, good sized TV/reading room, another common room. My only criticisms are: (1) toilets can get quite grotty (2) walls and doors throughout hostel are grimy so could do with a sugar soap (3) shower cubicles... More
