My husband booked this place because he could walk to the MCG. I'm still not talking to him and he's walking home. Dirty, Uncomfortable, Dilapidated. The best thing was leaving. 🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫

Yes, the location is perfect: in a beautiful avenue full of charming Victorian terraces and mansions and close Fitzroy Gardens and the MCG; easy and pleasant 15 minute walk to the CBD. But the condition and operation of this hotel was substandard in almost every way. After I booked online I phoned the hotel to request an email confirmation, as... More

We booked 2 rooms, got confirmation by email and were then contacted by phone to say that one of the rooms was not available, claiming that I had made in error in the booking date (which I could prove was not the case), and that I could get another $30 more expensive room instead. I subsequently cancelled and was reimbursed.... More

Very disappointing. One trundle bed mattress was so thin that you could feel every slat. Sleeping on the double bed was like sleeping on a trampoline. Kitchen crockery and cutlery not stocked for the 6 persons the apartment supposedly sleeps, though staff happily provided more on request. Apartment door didn't lock properly. When we asked about this, we were told... More

We have an annual boys footy trip from Queensland to Melbourne once a year. It was great for what we needed: a place to sleep and a base close to the footy. The place has a classic feel to it. It's no Hilton, but u get what u pay for. Worked out to be $40 each bloke per night. A... More

The hotel is nothing like the pictures they advertised on there website. bathroom had mould on the walls, dirty carpet and dirty walls in the bedroom. Hard stone bed. Half of the lights in the room didn't work. Ripped couches everywhere. Very disappointed, we booked this hotel because it looked beautiful in the photos and when u walk in it... More

If you're vision impaired and have a guide dog don't expect to be able to stay at this 'hotel'. Flat policy of 'no pets' and refused to listen to explanation that a Guide Dog is not a pet! So frustrating that these archaic attitudes still exist in the hospitality sector.

Having stayed at this hotel on several occasions previously, we were appalled by the decrepit state we found our room - dirty doors with peeling paint, chipped plasterwork, a broken toilet cistern - it's been a looooooong time since anything has been done to maintain or repair these rooms. Most disappointing was the tepid reception by staff. It was just... More

There are a myriad of things that need to be fixed...the whole place needs to be refurbished, dirty hand marks on doors and walls, windowsills etc, cracks in plaster, grouting missing from between tiles, stained sinks and toilets that didn't flush well. All in all our room was quite clean, but it desperately needs to have a really deep clean... More
