There are a myriad of things that need to be fixed...the whole place needs to be refurbished, dirty hand marks on doors and walls, windowsills etc, cracks in plaster, grouting missing from between tiles, stained sinks and toilets that didn't flush well. All in all our room was quite clean, but it desperately needs to have a really deep clean... More

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and would always recommend it...not this time. The owners of the hotel are new. One of the people at the front office was rude and arrogant. The first night we stayed in a twin room. The website says it is very quiet...not true. The room and bathroom were dirty and the shower... More

Would be the best way of describing Without the staff of this hotel trying to do their best, the overall rating would be a LOT lower. We were put in room 8 for our first night, this room is in dire need of a thorough clean and obvious faults fixed, i.e power outlets replaced, tiles glued, not sticky taped into... More

we used to stay in this hotel many years ago and it was a joy. this time it was a nightmare. the place has become very run down. the rooms are small and have not been maintained vey well. the bathrooms are tiny with tiles loose from wall and the cold water taps pouring out hot water for several minutes... Magnolia Court Boutique Hotel- Disgusting is the best word to describe the state of this 'boutique' hotel. My husband and I were really looking forward to our stay in early August 2013 at the Magnolia Court Boutique Hotel. Our previous experience, the hotel website and the beautiful location  helped us both make the decision to stay at the Magnolia Court.... More

For those visiting East Melbourne the location is superb. Easy walking distance to the sports precinct, Fitzroy gardens & city. Quiet street close to city. Didn't stay for breakfast (included in price) after luke-warm coffee & unappetising array on the first morning - so many great Melbourne cafes to experience I wouldn't waste my time here. Rooms badly need maintenance... More

Describing this place as boutique is taking poetic licence too far. It is grotty - room 16 is small the aircon not working, the toilet leaks water etc.Nothing like the room on the website. I arrived at 10 pm and the place was closed and I had to make phone call to be let in. Breakfast is at 7.30 -... More

Little bit apprehensive after reading some reviews but we had a very pleasant weekend here. Its not 'boutique' but is more like an old fashioned B&B. The furnishings are a bit old and tired, but our room was clean, cosy and perfectly comfortable. Service was good, we arrived late and they left our key in the security box outside which... More

We stayed in the cottage, and although there were a few issues (the curtain in the lounge area was broken and needed a wash, and front wooden handrail was rotten) and the parking was a bit of a nightmare... BUT we loved it! It was quiet, the staff were friendly to us (english was second language so there were a... More

Great position, breakfast was fine for the price. My bathroom was filthy: yellow grout, black mould, even on the window sill. A tile above the basin was stuck on with sticky tape, someone else's flannel was still hanging on the tap, one of the Power points had burnt out and someone seemed to have put a fist through the wardrobe...
