We stayd in the Magnolia Court hotel for 3 nights with my girlfriend. Hotel located very close to the city and you could walk to the CBD in 15minutes. The area where hotel located was very nice, quiet and peaceful (didn't need to worrie about getting robbed in night time). Room: Was clean, little oldish, but comfortable with queensized bed.... Stayed for a long time like 24 days, rooms not as advertised, not boutique anymore, more tired and feeling unloved. Rooms shabby curtains dirty, I stayed in 2 different rooms, moved cos aircon didn't work, first room tad dark, shower for midgets, floor never hovered at all, bath cleaned once in 2 different 15 days, other room slightly better bit... Once this place gets renovated as it perhaps should have been few years back it will be a very sought after place as the location is excellent. The building has good character and is quite inviting, but several things were obvious from the start - maintenance is not a priority which for an old building like this becomes a problem;... More

The young boy at the front desk has an excellent customer service, he is very kind and helpful. If you like to walk, location of the hotel is close to the city center (Approx. 20- 30 mins). You can also find public transport (tram) near by. Free parking and good options for breakfast (eggs, sausages, pancakes, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits,... More

I decided to stay here, because of a few things mentioned on the website, free parking, free internet, being the two top reasons for staying. I was a late check in, arriving straight after I'd finished work for the week, no one attempted to contact me when they closed the office, that's ok. I said to myself, I'll call the... More

At $135/night and located very conveniently for the MCG and Tennis Centre, this small hotel has a lot going for it. Unfortunately, the current owners think that price and location are enough and so they are letting the fabric of the building deteriorate and treating guests as though they're doing them a favour. In our small ground floor room, the... More

Coming in from public transport on the tram, it's about a short 5 minute walk up hill and the lavender bushes awaits you. I have never stayed at a B&B before so was entirely unsure of the place and from reviews, I was wary. Quick check in, I stayed in room 3 on the first floor. Bed was extremely soft... More

Stayed on a week night in a balcony room. Bedroom, separate bathroom and lounge room. No tv in lounge room only in bedroom. Clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. Parking is available, limited though, glad our car wasn't too big! Lovely old Victorian hotel amongst other gorgeous residences. Perfect to walk to the MCG or walk to tram and pop into the... More

My husband booked this place because he could walk to the MCG. I'm still not talking to him and he's walking home. Dirty, Uncomfortable, Dilapidated. The best thing was leaving. 🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫
