The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Checked in on a Friday and checked out the following Monday. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment but it was more like a 1 bedroom with study where they had just plonked a single bed.....no wardrobe, just a clothes rack and oversized chest of draws put in there leaving less room.... We stayed at the apartments for 4 nights on our recent short visit with friends to Melbourne. The apartment was spacious with some apartments offering views over the city. The apartment was double volume with large floor to ceiling windows leading onto a small balcony. These apartments are self catering with all the required appliances, crockery and cutlery to make... We didn't want to drive home new year's eve, so decided to just find a cheap place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised by 140 Little Collins, it is in a very good location. It has limited parking but they have a deal with a public car park just up the road, so parking was quite reasonable. We had a... More

This place....besides its location...there is nothing great about it. The sofa is half broken...all the armrests which are not against the wall are snapped in the middle as I think previous guests been sitting on them. The shower box is not clean... The staff...they are nice enough, but not responding to problems properly. WE noticed there were no 'do not... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment (no view) with my husband and 4 year old son. My sister and her husband have two small children so they were in a bigger 2 bedroom apartment (to fit the rollaway) with a really nice city view. The 'no view' room didn't bother us but I'd recommend paying the... More

Stayed for 5 nights with the family over the Christmas break. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom good kitchen with all appliances and laundry. Comfortable spacious apartment. We were very happy with location, close to shopping, restaurants and convenience stores. The apartment was clean and serviced daily. Our only issue was the free wifi, why bother offering it when the connection is... More

Booked one night in Melbourne for Boxing Day. Was able to get into room earlier which was appreciated. It is in a great location on Little Collins Street, close to transport and everything else in the CBD, and the apartment was spacious and well equipped for kitchen facilities. Unfortunately there were a few drawbacks - the bathroom mirror was dirty,... More

We stayed here for 9 nights, so it really did become our home away from home for that time. It is in an excellent location, only a short walk to Flinders Street Station and Melbourne Central, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms were quite large and very clean, and the beds were comfortable. My only... More

Was there for a long weekend earlier this month. Location was great - a short stroll to the city centre, and close to local cafes, bars and restaurants. Was also quite clean and the loft room was great for our group of friends. Staff at reception were also very friendly and always helpful.

We were really disappointed with the room, we happen to stay on a day that Melbourne temp reached 41degrees. The air con didn't work , there were no fans/aircon in the bedrooms. For $300 a night I would expect a little bit more. It was however very convenient to the city

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
