As a frequent user of the Quest Gordon Place, I am disappointed with the service we received when we stayed there recently. From the initial arrival at the usual front entrance there was a sign telling us that we had to go to the Lonsdale St Quest ( not told at time of booking by phone that this had changed)... More

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. the room sizes were good, The air conditoner didn't work properly. The control panel was hanging from the wall [should have been the first indication that the property has little to no maintenance].After a few calls and face to face convertions with reception we were given a portable air conditioner! not much use... Room was filthy.filthy carpets, cockroaches dead and alive, kitchen cupboards hanging off.Asked for another room which on inspection was even worse,Windows screwed down,no Tv,door would not shut. Lovely building however the rooms need to be checked and properly maintained. Ended up in a room that looked like the brochure in the end not great but ok.

I drew the short straw for hotel rooms here. I was located in room 81 which is below street level. 4am the garbage trucks came through cling clanging. Then trucks delivering food etc... So I got a total of 4 hrs sleep. Single paned windows so the next day was pretty painful. The WiFi is completely unusable. Not only did... More

Tiny rooms; windows permanently shut so there is no option for fresh air; airconditioning so noisy it was like having a truck engine roaring in the the room; panel missing from shower door so water goes all over the floor; the other panels jammed in place so that you have to squeeze through a narrow gap to get into the... We loved our 2 bedroom apartment here for three nights. Very comfortable and well presented. Lovely linen and soft carpets. Nice big lounge and dining area. Friendly staff at reception accommodated most of our needs with a smile. Only downside was closure of Cafe for public holidays and not many pans on the kitchen to cook with (although we didn't... We stayed here on the a couple of months ago and although the place looks incredible from the outside, the rooms are old and desperately need an update. There is an incredible garden in the centre of the property which is lovely, however that is all it has going for it. The room itself was not an apartment but a... More

We were part of a group that had booked approx 28 rooms!! Check in was nightmare and staff were rude. The entire process took forever. We were then directed to the car park next door which again another disaster. If driving a vehicle any larger than a mini don't bother, it's honestly the smallest car park I have ever been... More

Booked this hotel for a weekend for two couples in Melbourne. Booked and paid for a two bedroom apartment with two king beds. Explained that the room was for two couples. On arrival we were told that the hotel was overbooked and asked to move to another quest hotel in another Melbourne suburb much further out from the city. When... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
