Firstly the good: The location is excellent minutes from good public transport, right in the cbd. 3 minutes walk to Coles (supermarket- you can get all your supplies here), 3 minutes walk to local cafes with alot of variety where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner if you like and 5 minutes walk to the Yarra river to a... The Hotel was overall pretty good. I was here for business, its in a great location.. I think its seen better days. Reception staff were very friendly. Room was clean. The main issue that I had was the room service.. i asked to change fries to mash as a side for the main and was very bluntly told 'no we... More

Rooms: stayed in a deluxe room for five nights and it was small and tired looking. The TV is a small CRT TV. Furnishings are were cheaply done once upon a time so were saggy and droopy. Cleanliness: Towels everday had someone else's long hair. There was a red stain on the carpet in the middle of the room that... More

Great central location, clean towels, sheets and hot water. Recommended as part of a conference package - as original rooms were booked out, we booked a 'budget' room - small and cramped. Even though a room is 'budget' however there is no excuse for lack of maintenance and cleanliness. The shower rose ran constantly, the toilet set was not fixed... More

Stayed here for my second time on a recent weekend in Melbourne. I love the location of this hotel and find it convenient for all the great Melbourne sights and sounds. This is a hOtel which is forced to market itself as boutique as the rooms are so small. This will worry some. The concierge and front desk is very... More

Roar from Aircon at conference centre measured 56db on my iphone when it woke me at 6am on the 3rd floor. At 7am on the first morning cleaners started vacuuming outside my room. Whoever designed the lighting should be shot. It is controlled by Automatic Sensors. If you get up and go to the loo in the middle of the... More

The title of the review says it all. Location along Flinders Street is excellent. The building is a heritage building so it has got a nice touch in terms of decoration, if you like old VIctorian styles. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast selection in the restaurant called The Grill is alright. Nothing to shout about. Now, the rooms.... More

Pros - most comfortable bed in the world - central location - pleasant staff (apart from one manager) - elegant communal errors Cons - rooms are dark, dark furniture and bathrooms - some lighting is sensored which is annoying in the middle of the night - no wifi connection in guest rooms - bar was out of action- no happy... The Rendezvous hotel, previously known as the Duxton, is in a heritage listed building on Flinders Street. The grand staircase and elegant ground floor bar promise a memorable hotel experience. Unfortunately, the room size lets the initial impression down. The bed was comfy and large and dominated the room. With a couple of suitcases, however, it is difficult to navigate... More
