We bought a room at the Como at a Charity Auction. At least the money went to a good cause! Have never had a worse night's sleep. Put in a small room (no bath) with an adjoining door. OK, at the start the (4?) people next door were just talking normally but the sound was carrying dreadfully. We tossed and... more

We booked for four days but checked out after one. This hotel has seen better days and is living off its past reputation. There was residue from a past guest in the toilet, the alarm clock was filthy and the rugs were frayed and faded. The fridge in the kitchen was noisy so it was hard to sleep. The breakfast spot... more

Stopped there for two weeks and was very impressed. Rooms were excellent and large. Bathroom was wonderful. Staff were as good as any hotel I've ever stayed. It's in Chapel Street so near lots of restaurants. The only downside was that the bar was not always open and the sun deck is quite small. more

Stayed at the como in mid november on a week night for a romantic eveing. The hotel itself is very attractive. However, we did notice that inside the room, the furnishings were decaying. I opened the wardrobe and got old paint stuck underneath my fingernail. Obviously, the paint was decaying away. Not really 5 star quality in my opinion. Cleaning... more

Stayed at the como for 3 nights in September. The Como is not super-luxurious, but it is a very well run 4 - 4.5 star hotel and seems to be the best in the area. Great location for exploring south yarra, prahan and toorak. There were only a couple of glitches: *Asked for a quiet room and got one facing... more

Had an package deal which included valet parking, breakfast and late checkout. We had a standard room, which was very large, with a combined shower and spa bath (single person). Staff were very good - we literally left the keys in our car and ran to reception late morning, explained what we'd done, and that we had to get to... more

I booked a suite at the hotel and it seems I had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite. The rooms were huge. The bathroom was very large with spa bath and separate shower. The shower head had several settings with good pressure. A full kitchen, lounge and study area completed the rest of the room. All fittings and rooms... more

Last minute decision was made to pack up and stay at The Como on a Saturday night for a change (we live in Melb). We booked the Duckaway Package with inclusive breakfast and a Como Duck (I love duckies). The duck theme througout the hotel was so cute! This hotel is absolutely fantastic, the room was stunning, the service was... more

We purchased this night away from home (we live in Melbourne) at a charity event and it was with great excitement that we arrived ands checked in. Room was ok, but a little smaller than I was expecting and had also an ajoining door to the next room. Having been marched backwards and forwards along Chapel Street and Toorak Road... more
