I stayed in a studio apartment (Apartment #3) for three nights last week while on a business trip to Melbourne. The Quest is close to a range of good restaurants and bars as well as in easy walking distance to a number of convenience stores. When I travel for business I prefer to stay in services apartments so I have... More

We appriciate your positive feedback. I am glad to hear that you were satisfied with our elegant studio apartments!! With the noise factor we are on progress of installing double glazing windows for all our apartments and we do hope that this will help to reduce the problem. More

After two nights of having rubbish trucks and street cleaners outside my window I moved accomodation. No apology from staff or offer of refund. At 3am I opened blind and a truck was parked with engine running right next to where I was trying to sleep, parked in alley off little collins st. This was continuous through both nights. Do... More

I came over to Fairfax house last week and stayed for 3 nights in a studio apartment.. Rooms were quite elegant and comfortable.. Comfortable bed.. Having everything at the finger tip is the best advantage!! Staff were quite friendly and helpful.. Firstly when i saw the comments at Trip Advisor i was afraid to stay there and even called up... Stayed here with 2 other couples in a 3 bedroom apartment. The third bedroom was tiny and no storage area and the downstairs bathroom needed a make over. The living/kitchen area was huge and very comfortable. I could not fault the staff who helped us enormously as we were caught in volcanic ash flight delays for days. The biggest down... More

We booked one night here when between leases whilst living in Melbourne. The staff were lovely, and frankly they'd need to be because the hotel was pretty awful. The first room we were given smelt so badly of smoke when we opened the door that we had to troop back down to the southern hemisphere's slowest elevator and back to... More

Was placed in the old building, lift shuddered all the way up, room door had an ill-fitting lock, room stank of cigarettes and urine. It was freezing and there was only a small oil radiator. This is not 4 star, the advertising is not accurate, and I asked for my money back. FIrst time I have ever walked out of... More

We stayed in the same room as the previous reviewer, and a month after that review, the washing machine and the broken shower screen had not been fixed. Also, the dishwasher did not work. One of the blinds could not be closed. The freezer was frosted over and unusable. We paid on average $160 a night. We were given only... More

We were located in Apartment 28 of the “Queen Street building”, across the noisy alleyway other people on TripAdvisor have complained about. Naturally, we expected to pay a premium tariff as we were visiting Melbourne for the Formula 1 Grand Prix event, but were confident that we would have excellent accommodation, as portrayed in the photos on their website. Sadly... More

The photos on their website show their main building, not the one next door. My friend and I were put in room number 35, which is in the soon to be refurbished building next door. The semi-basement lobby smelled of stale moldy air, the tired elevator scared us every time we took it, the room was fitted with sun faded... More
