Apart from the staff not understanding basic English, the prearranged late checkout which they ignored and made us return 3 hours early than arranged - the bed had hair in it,stains on sheets and towels and the mould in the shower was black and thick that it spiraled over my fingernail when I ran it across the tile and glass.... Great location! We had everything we needed, fridge, microwave, sink. But the room is quite small, kitchen is very small. We spent 4 days here and were comfortable. You could open the balcony door, but street noise was loud! Was quiet with door closed. A/C worked well. Bed was comfortable. Good value!

Stayed in a two bedroom apartment opposite the lift. Big mistake as this apartment is basically on it's own opposite the lift, everyone else uses a further security door to enter their rooms. Kept waking all night, as security door shuts loudly each time someone returns. Pretty amazing as I only have about 20% of my hearing! Staff at all... More

On arrival reception was quick and efficient. The permanently locked front door is a pain if you nip out without yr card. We booked a one bedroom apartment. It was comfortable. The bedroom however was nothing more than a cupboard and the bed had to be pushed to one side to allow a passage to get in and out of... More

The only praise that I could give this hotel is its location. Location wise, it's a short walk from the nearest tram stop, and also nearby amenities. I was disappointed with Nova Stargate's product. I found the bed to be uncomfortable and smelly. There were also a few things which could have improved - such as placing a battery in... More

Stayed for one night. These Apartments are convenient to the Victoria Market as well as trams on Elizabeth Street. Had a two bedroom appartment at the rear of the building. The bedrooms contained a queen size bed in the main room and a single in the second room. Appartment was not large but was all that we needed. Kitchen was... More

The location was wonderful and very convenient near Queen Victoria Markets, trams and shops close by . The apartment was a bit shabby and also needed a deep clean but the things that were important were clean, like the sheets and towels, the addition of a balcony was a plus and the room I had was very quite, the only... Location is very convenient, near tho QV market. Reception is very helpful. Kitchenette is very old and unclean. No free Internet. Offers wide variety of cable channels. Offers good rates on booking sites. Need renovation and service improvements

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
