We stayed in this hotel in a balcony suite over a weekend. The room was ok, but not nearly a big as it looked in the pictures! At night time - especially Saturday night, it was very loud due to noise from the surrounding hotels and bars. I was woken up several times from 2am onwards. The tram that runs... more

Hotel Tolarno is a brilliant little boutique hotel with a big heart. Staff were completely lovely. The room was well-sized, clean and the bar and restaurant were used a few times during our stay. Its in the middle of Fitzroy st and its many restaurants and bars but our favourite was the Melbourne wine room. Without hesitation we would stay... more

I've always wanted to stay at Tolarno Hotel and I wasn't disappointed, it was great. Decor and artwork; just the style of the place is perfect for a Melbourne stay. An added bonus is the restaurant downstairs, Mirka cafe; beautiful food. I was in Melbourne for a weekend with a friend and we found it perfect to wander downstairs after... more

Recently returned to Tolarno for the second time and very much enjoyed this hotel. This hotel is stylish and is excellent value for money. My partner often stays in the Melbourne CBD and did not want to feel like he was visiting Melbourne for work. The area of St Kilda and the Hotel Tolarno are excellent choices for feeling like... more

We have just returned from a 4 night stay here at the Tolarno on the main street in St Kilda. Although it isnt located right in Melbourne several trams stop right outside and it makes it very quick and easy to get all over the city. We loved the location, with great restaurants and bars (including the amazing Esplanade bar/live... more

My partner and I just recently returned from Melbourne and having read the reviews on the hotel, we thought we'd give it a go. LOVED IT. ITS EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET AND MORE. Fabulously situated, approx 20 mins to the city and 15min walk to St Kilda beach. Restaurants galore to pick from, we especially enjoyed Topolinos which... more

Good things: I loved the art and colourful decor. I also liked the wood flooring. (Common areas are carpeted). Was very handy having a fridge in the room. Also liked having both a ceiling fan and aircon so could choose the cool comfort level. (There's also a wall heater.) The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great... more

We stayed there after the NY days which was extremely hot in Melbourne. The location was very good with tram stop just in front of hotel. Plenty of restaurants in the area & short ride to the beach st.kilda. Parking is not so convenience as you hv to park about one block away- plus you hv to park on a... more
