I stayed their with my family and friends for 2 nights and was really very disappointed, they dont have concierge, no bell desk and no room service. Staff was also not co-operative and very rude. We never expect such kind of service from a 4* hotel as they claim to be. Its not worth even a 3*. Rooms were small... More

Stayed here for five nights for city conference, and booked for a great value price (unbelievably only $125 a night for a superior king suite!!). Found the staff helpful, courteous and always ready to recommend a local pub! The hotel restaurant was good quality too, with really nice breakfast! And for a motel in the centre of Melbourne, the road... More

Stayed here for a night on a trip to Melbourne as it was pretty good price ($129) The room is ok nothing special, but for the price you can't really expect the world. The lighting in the room could do with a upgrade and not sure about how to have a good shower because it is either hot or cold.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Chancellor to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. I stumbled across the hotel whilst searching for deals for a Saturday night stay in Melbourne. I booked a superior king suite which had a view over Lonsdale street and we were very happy with the room. Very clean and with all the facilities to... More

Reception staff very pleasant and helpful.gave me an upgrade. The room was beautifully appointed and everything worked perfectly. Very clean and the bathroom offered complimentary toothbrush, shaving kit etc---usually offered in high end hotels. Centrally located and very close to all amenities so good location. Would stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

Having read some previous reviews, I admit that my bar for Grand Chancellor was pretty low, but I was willing to give it a shot. Where do I begin? Lights: When you first enter your room and turn on the main light switch, you'll find that the lights don't, well, light the room up. It takes a good 5-10 minutes... More

I was looking for a clean inexpensive room and that is what I got. The In house phone doesn't work so phone from mobile to speak with reception. Breakfast service doesn't start until 6.30 and parking attendant at 7am. While the staff were pleasant, they lack forethought leaving customers inconvenienced and frustrated. I would rate it at 3 stars

All I could have asked for. I swam in the outdoor pool in winter. Loved it. The room was clean. All the staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast was good. The location was perfect for me. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here to go to the theatre and it was great. Easy to find, just around the corner from the theatre and walking distance to the CBD it was everything you could want. Friendly professional staff and nothing seemed to be a problem The room was clean and had a nice little balcony and the bed was super comfy.... More
