We arrived early and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Premium King room which was lovely, comfortable bed, great bathroom and very spacious. All in all great room. Great that is, until we tried to get some sleep..... Being on the front of the hotel, the room was very noisy as the windows aren't double glazed. You may... More

We recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend in Melbourne (November 2014). We found the staff very friendly and the check in process very easy. The room was clean and spacious enough for the two of us and we were nice and high on the 15th floor. Would definitely recommend to friends.

We used the hotel as a base whilst visiting Melbourne for the racing carnival. Very easy to walk into the CBD and close proximity to China town a plus. Nice comfortable rooms. Only let downs were room cleaning with bins not emptied and also items like tea bags not replaced. Did not eat in restaurant as they could not provide... More

Nestled in the top end of Melbourne CBD, great location, close to Theatres, Chinatown, Restaurants, Cafes and Shops. I stayed in an economy double room mainly for the private "Juliette" balcony as I'm a smoker...the room was small with an out dated bathroom, great water pressure in the shower and clean. Wi-fi cost $11.00 for 24hrs, which is a bit... More

I had initially booked one of the economy rooms as I was only staying for 2 days. I found that there was a problem with one of the bathroom taps. I advised the front desk and was immediately upgraded to one of their new rooms on the upper floor. They were wonderful! All modern and very flash. Great view of... More

Tentatively booked a room for two nights without checking Trip Advisor or any review site. We upgraded on arrival as we arrived in the city late morning and an upgraded room was available. On arrival the foyer of the hotel was small and busy and tired but opening the door to our room on the 14th floor we were both... More

This hotel is very centrally located. The room was spacious and clean, and was a very welcome sight after a busy day of meetings. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. I would definetily consider a return visit. The one downside I experienced was that the wifi was not free. Maybe they could have free wifi for modest download users.

Our second stay here and it was just as great as our first! An absolutely ideal location in the heart of the CBD with everything in easy walking distance. Plus only a $10 cab ride to Rod Laver Arena which we utilised to see The Rolling Stones:) Spotlessly clean rooms, very comfortable bed, and everything one could want for a... More

Awful Room,Run down bathrooms and crappy view. Not what you would expect for $229 per night. The bed sunk in the middle and to top it off we got stuck in the elevator. Would not go back. We were not compensated for the bed when we told front desk staff. My advice spend a little more and stay at the... More

I stayed at the Grand Chancellor for four nights in June. The staff were lovely and super helpful. The room was tidy but because we were positioned by the lift, it was annoying and inconvenient when other guests came back to the hotel being loud and/or arguing at 2 in the morning. Besides that my stay was great.
