I stayed two nights at this hotel with my partner over a weekend in August. The location in Lonsdale street was great for shopping, for restaurants in Lygon Street, half hour walk to the MCG. The service was good, breakfast (included in price) was lovely. We got a 'last minute' rate and paid about $110 a night. The room we... more

My husband booked this without reading trip advisor. I was freaking out after reading reviews. After staying there for five days I can honestly say , and I am very fussy generally this is a great place to stay . I have come to the conclusion there is a lot of whiny people around who just want to pick at... more

We arrived 4 hours before check in time and were delighted to find our room ready and that we had also been given a complimentary upgrade. Our room was great, it was a good size and was clean, nice towels etc in the bathroom and the beds were so comfortable. We found the housekeeping to be excellent and were kept... more

Great to finally find a hotel in Melbourne with a balcony for fresh(ish) air and parking on-site. Not the cleanest of hotels for this fussy one but it was OK. Until the heater made a water noise all night & the temperature control is hard to monitor. Then morning 2 - bites! I suck it up and get on with... more

Good service. Rooftop pool was amazing-recommend people use it.My room was changed after I pointed out couple of broken things in the bathroom.Only downside was that I forgot couple of things in the room and went back to get it & the hotel staff couldn't locate it. Breakfast was good, but there are plenty of options for food in Melbourne.... more

I stayed at the Grand Chancellor in July and was pleasantly surprised when they upgraded my room. I was impressed by the location of the hotel and was in easy walking distance to restaurants and the theater. more

Headed down to the Melbourne from Albury to watch the mighty Saints. Hotel was right in the city which was perfect. Easy to get to the game and check the city out. Rooms were clean and comfy - that's all we wanted. Price was great - will hopefully be back for the GF!!! Go Saints! more

My husband and I had this hotel booked by our travel agent as we were attending the gift fair. On arrival, we were greeted warmly and asked if we would like an "upgrade" to a superior room which was re-furbished with new carpets and new beds, this was at a cost of AUD$15.00 per night...we thought "why not" and were... more

Stayed at the Grand Chancellor Melbourne for 4 nights for a 50th birthday celebration trip. Very good experience. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. We had a Winter Escape deal with buffet breakfast included in the room price. The rooms on the 16th floor had recently been refurbished and were very tidy and clean with room to move. The... more

Went to Melbourne for a long weekend holiday break. Booked direct with the hotel, dealt with helpful reservation staff. Chose a spa room, number 1506, $195 per night for 3 nights including an excellent buffet breakfast for 2 people. The room is huge with lots of sun and light and good views from the large windows on 2 sides. It... more
