We were in Melbourne for the tennis. We were very happy with our stay. We were able to walk everywhere with ease. Plenty on places to eat close by or there are grocery stores just a 5 minute walk. The only thing that disappointed us was that we did not have a table to eat at in our room. Place... More

We stayed here for the second time and had a one bedroom apartment on the 10th floor. Lovely room with plenty of space, kitchen area and dining table included and the bedroom was separate, with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom was really nice and a good size, with both a shower and a separate bath. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast... More

Centrally located the Mantra on little Bourke provide clean accommodation and exceptional customer service. The coffee machine in our room was broken and the heating not working but Tim from reception saved the day. Nothing was too much trouble and even though he couldn't replace the coffee machine he personally delivered excellent takeaway coffee from their restaurant to our room.... More

Got to the floor of my room and had a huge smell of sewage throughout the whole corridor and also in the room. Did not go away the whole time we were there. wouldn't stay there again. Not worth the money

Check-in was easy and simple although their system was down and we weren't able to access the room without a persons from reservations to open our door. Room was clean, modern & spacious, I love it! Very comfortable. Valet parking only available on site which I do not like as I don't want people driving my car... Overall it was... More

My sister and I arrived early, Mantra kindly stored our bags until check-in. The room was superb! We had a brand new queen bed each, a lovely living area and a useful kitchen and a really large bathroom. The whole room appeared to be updated, and what a job! it was so quiet too. Even the lifts were quiet and... More

Nice big rooms with a kitchen and lounge area. Only minor downside was no Foxtel movie channel - but had pay per view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is good. The gym, whilst small is well fitted out for a hotel gym - though if any more than 6 people it is crowded.

This hotel is one of those that you think "good" about for most aspects. It's not special or fancy, but it's not disappointing either. Location - good, customer service - good, room size and comfort - good, facilities available - good. We stayed in an executive suite which I suppose is a little larger than the standard rooms - the... More

We spend 3 nights at Mantra . The location is good , quite in the center of CBD Melbourne within walking distance to many touristic locations The cafe downstairs serves breakfast buffet every day , continental and fully cooked , but in Melbourne there are a variety of places to have a great breakfast . Some 2-3 coffee shops within... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
