We very much enjoyed our stay in Melbourne and admittedly didn't use the hotel to it full potential (gym/pool etc.) so we just have the room and decor to base this on. The room was nice and had daily cleaning, however we were disappointed to find that despite advertisement there was no mini bar in the room - yet evidence... More

This place was chosen on price as most hotels in Melb' were ridiculous because of the Aus' Open tennis. $170 when basic rooms elsewhere were $300 seemed pretty reasonable and I wasn't expecting much. The hotel location is OK, near trams on St Kilda Rd and plenty of taxi's on Queens Rd. Car parking was a very reasonable $13 against... More

Yes this is an old hotel and desperately in need of a revamp but the sTaff were courteous and helpful, and as a family of 5 we had 2 rooms for 2 nights and paid $110 per night per room so very cheap for a large family city stay- tram is around the corner and were at south bank n... More

This property was once (say 40 years ago) a top Melbourne Hotel. It is now badly in need of refurbishment and I would advise anyone to give it a miss. On the lower floors the $110 rooms have the shower over the bath - with no anti-slip mat or grab rail; air conditioning that is ineffective on a warm Melbourne... More

My Partner and I stayed here for a weekend wedding during the long weekend (Queens Birthday) and because it was a long weekend all prices hiked up. We tried to find a place in between the Church and the reception as well as an inexpensive hotel as we were only there for 1 night. In Summary the staffs were not... More

The Hotel is located in front of the Formula-1 Grand Prix venue, which is a golf-ground and some public roads through the year. Not too far from CBD (=downtown for non-aussies), with good public transportation connections. (several tramlines are within 5 minutes of walking). Hotel was clean in general, but all the furnitures, equipments, wallpaint etc. looked old and used.... More

6 friends booked in here for New Years, 2nd year in a row. Great party in the function room, good food, great waiter, good band. Package includes acc, dinner, beer, wine and Breakie. The party itself is great, but not for tea totalers. The rooms are good and parking is included. The only downfalls are the lack of staff and... More

The foyer presents differently to the rooms, the rooms decor is very dated and very dirty. The hotel managers attitude was arrogant, very poor service from the moment I arrived. It does not deserve it's self rating of 4.5 stars in my opinion.

After a 12 hour drive I arrived to most cold disinterested check in process I have ever experienced in many years of travelling. Well completing my checking where I was requested to provide photo identification which was then photocopied With no explanation as to why or how this material which is private and confidential would be used . I I... More

Even my grandma would be very disappointed to see that old outdated CRT TV. The aircon is too loud and wake me up a few times every night. The lifts are too old. One was not working and the other barely moves. The staff at reception are completely unprofessional. No apologies offered on their mistakes. I've stayed in a few... More
