Travelling solo for a week for business (and catching up with friends), and the Mercure Welcome was perfectly fine. The location is ideal, letting me explore Swanston St & Chinatown easily, lots of food places nearby open until very late at night. Tram stop just outside & always taxis available to get where I needed to quickly. Room size was... More

Booked hotel for its location which is really convenient. Took my elderly mother to Melbourne to visit family/friends and needed medium priced value accommodation. Was given twin room with recently renovated shower room. Bathroom small ( one person at a time small) but very clean and lovely strong, hot shower. Room on the small side but perfectly adequate unless you... More

My wife and myself stayed for two nights to attend a concert in Melbourne and we booked this hotel for it location and value having stayed here on numerous other occasions. The only disappointment was the breakfast offer that was not what it was stated but I brought this to management attention and they changed the wording within hours. Would... More

Pretty shocked at the dirty wall and vents with layers of dust.. Put complaint in manager didn't even come up to look at it and stated it was a 3 star hotel so up to expectations....yea I'd be happy if it was a back packers what makes it worse is the fact that he stated he never inspects the rooms... I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway in the city. Stayed with my husband and 10 year old son for two nights. The location could not be better. It was right on Swanston St in the heart of the CBD. That's the only good part. When I rang to book I asked for a rollaway for my son and... More

This was our first trip to any Accor Hotel. The staff were amazing - well informed and knowledgeable about all things Melbourne. The location is absolutely perfect - within walking distance of all that Melbourne offers. We were disappointed with the actual room - it was quite noisy, with adjoining rooms' water flushing, people talking, doors slamming shut loudly and... More

Dear Happyjohnny, It's great to receive feedback from a Top Contributor. We appreciate your compliments & concerns. With 330 rooms, indeed some rooms could potentially be noisier than others. On your next stay with us, please request for a quiet room to be allocated. Once again, thank you for your feedback and we look forward to your stay with us.... More

This was the first time we stayed with Mercure Welcome in Melbourne, despite being Accor Advantage Plus members. We got an amazing deal on the weekly red hot members' deals. Staff were, without exception, excellent - friendly, helpful, generous with their time. The room was much bigger than the average hotel room, and had a sink, microwave and toaster, though... More

The best thing about this hotel was the location. It is straight in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Next to the hotel is the trams, restaurants and the shopping complex. The rooms were nice, but nothing special.
