Recently we spent a few days in Melbourne and chose the Marriott as it was near the attractions we were seeing. On arrival, we were greeted warmly then offered champagne - much to our delight, and the floral arrangements in the Reception area were magnificent. Changed daily. Our room was comfortable, old furniture and TV but the usual quality of... More

This was a horrid Marriott. The rooms were old and carpeting worse than my college dorm. In fact things were so pathetic that the TV even had a sign on it saying, "Please forgive me, I am being replaced soon." In a word, for the price, the property's physical space was an embarasment. Similarly I have seen better fitness equipment... More

I recently had the worst hotel experience I've ever had staying at the Marriott Melbourne. Typically, I am not much of a poster, but I wanted to share my experiences so that others are aware of the terrible service and accommodations at this Marriott. Upon check-in, the staff that was helping me was very rude and not willing to accommodate... More

Our stay was quite enjoyable except for a couple of problems we encountered. On arrival at 2.30pm we were met with a warm welcome both by door man and staff on reception. We ventured up to our room on the 7th floor only to be met with a room that had not been serviced which we found quite unacceptable for... More

My wife and I had what could be described as an almost perfect stay in one of the most amazing cities we've ever visited. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly greeted and assisted by one of the best trained hotel staffs we've ever experienced. In one of the best travel decisions we ever made, we... Nicely located in central Melbourne, and good standard Marriott. Not much more to say. Would stay again.

We (my husband and three children, 17, 15 and 11) have just returned home after spending 6 nights at the Melbourne Marriot. This hotel more than suited our needs. We had inter-connecting rooms which is great if you are travelling with a family. The rooms are getting just a little tired (the hotel has begun a room refurbishment) but they... More

I will start with the positive, the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I must agree with the other reviewers comments that the rooms were shabby (furniture worn and door hinges crooked, burnt out light bulbs, worn upholstery) and the staff a little too uppity. They obviously wanted to appeal to the business customers and didn't seem too happy with leisure... More

The staff really make this hotel a memorable experience. Everyone to from the valet attendant to the wait staff at the restaurant was nothing but accommodating, helpful and pleasant. To top it off we inadvertently got a parking fine whilst waiting for the valet to park our car, and even though it was our mistake the manager kindly offered to... More
