My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice in April for 8 nights in total. The first impression was really good. Then we got to our room and realised it was far from a 5 star standard. The décor was dark and old fashioned. And I have never seen such dirty windows in my life. However, the size of... more

It was nice as i was the "spouse" while the wife was on business. So it was the kids and I. We used the hotel as a based to explore Melbourne, and even Mt Buller for skiiing (what was left of the snow). We had a room overlooking into the swimming pool but it was too cold even though it... more

This was a good (not great) hotel with amazing location and easy access to the city transportation. Concierge was amazing!! The only thing that was frustrating was that we stayed there during May (the fall/winter in Australia) and there is no heat in the rooms to control individually. You are on central heat for the whole hotel!!! For about $200... more

I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2009. Overall I was very happy with the hotel. The rooms are much larger than usual. I was in the standard room with 1 queen bed. Apart from the bed (great bed - very comfy) , there was a couch, chair, coffee table and desk - with a lot of carpet to... more

Contrary to some of the other reviews, our experience was a very positive one. On arrival, we were upgraded to a suite, and allowed to check in at 10:00 a.m. The suite was very nice and roomy; we noticed no worn carpets, etc. The furniture and decor were nice and modern, and the bed was typical Marriott comfy. The front... more

We booked this with an online booking sight. The hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to shopping central, trams and Lygon street. From the moment we checked in with Joseph,we knew we'd have a great stay. We paid extra to go to the Executive lounge, which was well worth it. We had breakfast up there, and they had drinks and canapes... more

I am a frequent Marriott guest around the globe. While I understand that the quality of an experience will vary hotel to hotel, this Marriott, overall, was my one of my worst experiences with this chain. The hotel is centrally located to the sights of Melbourne and the staff are pleasant enough, but for staters it is an old place.... more

We stayed at the Marriott in January of 2009 for 3 nights during a stop over in Australia on our way to New Zealand. We arrived mid-morning after a long flight from the U.S. We were disappointed to find out that we couldn't check-in yet (I've stayed at the Sydney Marriott several times and we've always been able to check-in... more

I stayed at the Marriott on Friday night for work. I would rate it 1/5 stars, and easily the worst hotel in Melbourne! The staff were rude, ignorant and no sense of customer service. Some of the highlights (should i say lowlights were): 1. My mobile phone died so was forced to use the hotel phone to call my Fiance.... more

I stayed here for a night in mid-January, to attend a meeting, which was held at the hotel. The welcome was great - the doorman met me at my taxi, took care of my luggage and offered me a chilled glass of bubbly while I checked in - very nice after a long and hot trip. The room was OK,... more
