Recently stayed a few nights and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and provided a warm welcome. They took our bags up without hesitation, offered a welcome drink, and were helpful with any questions we had. One morning when we were waiting out front for a tour to pick us up the front staff continually checked on... More

The management and staff of this property were outstanding from our arrival to our departure. We were there 7 days and didn't have a bad moment. Centrally located and able to walk or tram to almost everything worth seeing. Can't wait to go back.

This is a pretty standard Marriott with nothing particularly outstanding. Good central location with Chinatown and many Italian eateries in close proximity. Check in was a bit of a non-event, the one member of staff on the desk seemed nervous and was not particularly friendly. Policy at this hotel is to offer a welcome glass of sparkling wine. None offered... More

The Marriott is in a great location to visit all parts of Melbourne, has very clean and comfortable facilities and an extremely friendly, knowledgeable & helpful staff. The rooms are quite large and are well appointed. The entire staff, especially the concierge team, is exceedingly knowledgeable and gracious. Advance booking is very helpful and will provide an attractive room rate.

We were so impressed by the attentiveness of everyone at this hotel, it really did raise the bar for exceptional customer service. From the welcome glass of Australian sparkling wine at check-in to the personalized note and complimentary bottle of wine in our room the Marriott really did provide five staff service. Very comfortable and spacious rooms helped as well!

I had a fab experience here from start to finish. We were living here for 4 nights and 5 days. The rooms are nice and, clean, comfortable and overall very pleasant. The location is amazing. We were close to all the nice bars and restaurants literally a walk away. The concierge service was out of this world. There were about... More

The beds are INCREDIBLEEEEE!!! Expect quality and comfort out of your stay! Excellent service, fantastic location, only less than a minute walk to Bourke Street Mall. Great 24hour Greek restaurant - Stalactites just around the corner.

From start to finish, this hotel was perfect. We checked in for a 5 night stay for the tennis.. On arrival check in staff were friendly, and the little gift was a nice touch. On arrival to our room, it was wrong as only had a king size bed, I love my best friend, but not a fan of sleeping... More

We come to Melbourne for Business every January and this is the first time we have stayed at the Marriot hotel. It is very conveniently located for business, shopping and the theatre. Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
