Everywhere fully book and expensive during F1. Nowhere to go except from this basic motel. Rates including a set of simple ready-to-go breakfast which is nice and handy for early check out travellers. Some of the rooms ready need a face-lift.

We stayed at the motel during the recent school holidays, not having been there for years. From the outside it still looks old and dated. But we had a room for the 2 of us and our 2 kids. It had a queen bed and 2 singles. The bed was soft but the room was good value for money. The... More

I recently had to stay close to Royal Melbourne Hospital and I presently surprised when I stayed at the Arden. Although the decor could only be described as 70's, everything was neat and well presented. It was so nice to see a large bath in the room. The other pleasant surprise was the complementary breakfast provided in each room. Great... More

The staff are excellent, very friendly. Continental breakfast provided in room, small kitchen and well set out room overlooking street with breakfast nook. The rooms are a little dated however clean and tidy, location is excellent. Parking free and off street, I would return again after my two night stay. I'd like to mention that I left early before I... More

We arrived to find that only one room had been reserved instead of the 2 we requested when we rang to book. The staff were helpful, except for the man, who pointed his finger at me and said it was my fault. After half hour or so they found us the other room. The rooms were upstairs so we had... More

The good: location, free wifi, breakfast supplies, kitchenette, good mattress, free parking The bad: rickety bunk beds, scratchy blankets, threadbare sheets The ugly: the decor! Very dated/faded/worn and repairs needed (but everything was clean) Overall: I can't believe I'm saying this but I would actually stay here again - to get breakfast (minimalist admittedly), parking, a spacious self-contained family room,... Just reached here in Melbourne. Shocked beyond believe, everything is so old and dirty. I stayed in the corner room, no window and air circulation. Very stuffy. We booked for 5 nights, so we request to change the room. Sadly, it's Australian Open, everywhere is booked out. We have to wait another 2 nights to swap the room. We won't... More

A cheap and welcoming motel. Very handy to the Royal Melbourne Hospital which is why we stayed there. The office staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay there again. Complimentary continental breakfast was excellent and much appreciated.

My travelling mate and I had a great time in Melbourne for the three days and 2 nights we stayed. It all started when we arrive at the Arden. Facilities were excellent and the tarriff excellent. Car parking a major concern in Mlb motels was abundant.Staff were efficient and polite. Very quiet and relaxed.
