We stayed 3 nights at this b&b. It was an absolutely pleasant place to stay which you can compare to a hotel room. We were impressed how well of this heritage building has been maintained, spotless and it has everything you need when travelling. Very good location, 5 mins walk to Lygon street, the little Italy, numerous restaurants to choose,... More

This B & B was close to everything we needed. A wee walk to the city centre but no problem. Fantastically close to Lygon Street. Thank you to Ian (who is a gem) for pointing the way to some great restaurants. The room was clean and quiet... and warm. Breakfast is all you need. No hesitation in going back and... More

This place is an absolute gem, I was attending a conference at the University, and it was perfectly positioned, ten minutes walk from the conference and ten minutes to the fabulous eating places and shops. My room was just lovely, exquisite original rose plaster work on the ceiling, sash windows, very large room, ensuite was fabulous, lovely shower. Everything was full... More

I am on sabbatical leave in Melbourne and wanted a nice, homely place were to stay. I needed to be near the University, and have always dreamed to live on Drummond street. It is so beautiful with all its XIX Century terraces and mansions. Ian, the "in-house" owner, is a lovely human being. He prides himself of keeping his house... More

This B & B is the top's! Much better than those multi-story apartment buildings in town. In-house owner operator is most courteous and helpful. Direct to door commuter bus from the airport. My wife and I stayed here for four nights and just couldnt believe how peacful and quiet the place is considering how close it is to the CBD... More

This was a great place to stay, very welcoming with a personal greeting. Close to everything you need in Melbourne - the fantastic eat street called Lygon Street and Melbourne CBD. I felt at home from the first minute. Had a slight problem with batteries running out in the TV remote but this was fixed immediately and with great apology.

We were visiting our son and family , who were on sabbatical from the US, and staying at University of Melbourne, and we wanted a good b + b near to them. We found 169 Drummond through Trip Advisor. It looked good on all counts and we phoned them up. It turned out that the date we were arriving was... More

Clean, filled with character. Close to everything yet nestled in a quiet road away from the hustle and bustle happening just one block down in Little Italy. Walking distance from everything. Close to public transport. It is a fantastic place. We will be back. The owner very sweet and gives good tips on where to go in Melbourne. Place represents... More

Home away from home - it was always lovely to get back here after a long day exploring and sight seeing. Warm, cosy, comfortable, clean, quiet and welcoming. Ian is very friendly but he also gives you your space. Convenient location. I would definitely recommend this property to everyone.

My friend Peter and I(Michael) stayed here for 4 days in February 2015. Ian and Daisy(his dog) were very gracious hosts. Ian is very welcoming and his home is very nice and clean(basically immaculate) with all of the amenities which made our visit to Melbourne even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay with Ian and Daisy again and I would... More
