These nice little unserviced rooms with kitchenettes are called apartments, but they are what we call in the country, self-contained bedsitters. They are small, clean and comfortable, double beds (not queen) and only one block's walk from the Melbourne free tram network which is excellent. My one small problem was on arriving to check in at 4.20pm Monday for a... More

I chose this place as it is close to the hospital which is the only reason I needed to stay in Melbourne. Thankfully, it was cheap, comfortable, friendly and quiet with fresh and modern furnishings & decor. I hate old style hotels with bad decor which is usually what you get for $100, but not this place! The rooms are... More

Hotel is situated in a very central location near trams, Queen Vic Markets and Restaurants. We stayed for five nights and it suited our needs for an extra long weekender in Melbourne. The only critique I would have is whilst the rooms are mostly clean, they really could do with a good going over. Under the bed was very dusty... More

Very basic but good value for money. The rooms are tiny (as expected) with all the basic furnishings that should be there and nothing more than that. The rooms (or at least my room - 402) was a little loud - the window and the balcony sliding door have only standard single glazing so the street noise can be easily... More

I stayed here for three weeks when I relocated from UK to Melbourne. Great location, 2 min walk to tram stop, in fact if you walk 5 mins you reach the free tram stop. Queen Vic Markets are literally next door great for fresh fruit and veg, deli etc. I found the location was perfect as I had lots of... More

One block from that icon of Melbourne, the Vic Market, is an excellent location to forage in the delights of the city. The City Edge rooms are tiny, but have all the basic needs. A two plate electric hob, fridge, jug, toaster, TV and - a sign of the times - a rice cooker. Basic crockery/cutlery/pans. Bathroom was clean with... More

Stayed one week and had a great stay. The room comes with a kitchen and a clothes washer dryer. The location places you in walking distance of downtown for shopping and restaurants. The staff are attentive. The hotel is very close to the markets that run on the weekend.

Stayed three nights - this place is well located, quiet and clean, fine if all you need is a (single) bed and a shower. However, I had several gripes: * Biggest problem: The "double bed" is two singles pushed together. Entirely inappropriate for a couple, unless you enjoy falling down the gap in between all night. * The receptionist balked... More

Tram stop outside front entrance. - Comfy bed - Good shower - kitchenette - clean & safe - laundry facilities Bad - wifi slow & intermittent - can hear street noise easily It is basic but sufficient. Very basic Hotel since its an Apartment Hotel. Didnt realise it while booking that the reception is open only till 8pm in the night. Room is small but has a lot of things in it if you like to cook. have to drag the luggage at the entrance where there are a few stairs - not a nice thing when... More
