Stayed here worth my sis, rooms are very small, and was a bit shocked you could see into shower through glass in room, was clean and modern, although on returning to our room on the second day the cleaner was just leaving our room. Luck we came back when we did as the cleaner must have accidentally turned stove on... More

Dear ellenmorrismci, Thank-you for your recent review. It is a pleasure to read your comments regarding the clean and modern aspect of the accommodation we offer. I am surprised to read about the confusion with the kettle as housekeeping don't have any need to operate the cook-top while performing their duties. I am pleased to read the situation was rectified... More

The hotel was average. It wasn't bad but not great either. Pros: Great location Adequately resourced Cons: The shower has see through walls The shower leaks into the bathroom as it doesn't seal The bathroom fan didn't work leading to peeling paint The air conditioning was very noisy and inefficient The lobby smelt really, really bad (we would hold our... City Tempo is fairly centrally located. It's just a short walk to La Trobe Street where you can get on the free city loop tram which takes you to Federation Square, Docklands, Etihad Stadium etc. It's almost right next door to the Queen Victoria Markets. You can walk to Flinders Street station in around 15min too so the location is... More

Front desk staff are really nice but the rooms have the feel of a budget hotel. Fortunately it wasn't hot when I stayed there because the old fashioned air conditioner was unacceptably noisy and was switched off immediately. The room I booked was very small with a tiny, tiny bathroom. The water pressure was good but the shower pooled water onto... More

There is just one gotcha with the City Tempo and that is the size of the rooms. They are "compact" for those who don't like the word "small". As long as you know that before you get there, it is no issue to organize where you put your stuff. Think of it as a luxury Winnebago on blocks for a... More

Convenient location, friendly staff, everything you need for a short or long stay, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer with powder/detergent. Only negatives were that air con unit was noisy and fan could only operate on high speed & no free wifi. Not far to tram although closest tram service was not the most frequent, Melbourne Central station & supermarket and seemed... More

City Tempo is well-placed near Melbourne City markets where a 300metre walk each day allowed me to buy fresh food which I could cook in my room. Inclusions were an induction cooktop and a new-age microwave oven with full range of pots, pans, tools, utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Also equipped with a larger than average hotel fridge, an excellent... More

Just went down for shopping and World Cup cricket final and this place was perfect. Little studio with dishwasher and washer and dryer really close to everything ang good value. Bonus is the little coffee shop next door that converts to a Korean fried chicken place in the evening. Also has an IGA and liquor store across the street.

Nice, self-contained apartment located close to shopping, restaurants and landmarks (short walk to Queen Vic markets, 20-minute walk to convention centre). The room was small, but well laid out with everything you'll need for a short-stay.
