Stayed in 1 bed apartment and it was marvelous. Plenty of space, everything you could ask for. Bed is a queen size which could do with being king. The staff were bery friendly, professional amd efficient. A surprise cake was delivered to my room and the hotel were able to accomodate. Location is great right where the lane bars and... More

Stayed here, in a one bed apartment, in December and the New Year. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything my son and myself needed. The reception staff and manager were exceptionally helpful (especially Summer and Mark) for all of our needs and I cannot fault them at all, despite being very busy at this time of year. Didn't... We stayed here for two nights with our five year old. Overall we had a good experience and felt very comfortable here. I booked a one bed apartment through Expedia (@$175 per night) with an extra rollaway bed (@$50 per night). It wasn't at all clear on expedia that we would pay this extra charge. Had I known this I... More

Maybe I've been spoiled by The Meriton (both in Sydney and in Brisbane) but the Citadines really doesn't measure up. The deluxe studio was small with no coffee maker or press, no broom, no hooks on doors to hang things, no washer/dryer in the apartment, little storage/closet space. Really not a good place at all. Small refrigerator and 1 tiny... More

This was the first time I've been to Melbourne and I have to say that Citadines on Bourke was a great place to stay. Not only the location was fantastic, the staff was top notch and made the experience even better. The main things I found handy were: - The hotel is very close to Chinatown so you can get... More

The best thing about Citadines is easily the location - you are smack bang in the middle of the Melbourne CBD, with a tram stop right outside the door, shopping, restaurants and bars right down the road. Requested a room with a view and I got one, which looked spectacular at night, especially with the wrap around windows. The free... More

This was our second stay at Citadines on Bourke and once again the hotel and staff lived up to all our expectations. We decided to walk from Southern Cross Station - an easy walk of about 20 minutes. We stayed here for a long weekend of eating and shopping in and around Melbourne, and would definitely return here. It's well-located both for the CBD shopping and restaurant areas, but also has a tram stop right at the door for trips further afield. The tram runs from the door to Southern Cross Station which makes connecting to the airport... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
