DO NOT STAY HERE. Receptionist wouldn't let me bring my own lining making me pay extra for sofa bed. The floor was more comfortable then the sofa bed. The walls were absolutely filthy all through the place and the smell of vomit hit you in the face when getting off on level 1. The whole room resembled a poorly cleaned... More

Spent 7 nights in Melbourne at the City Edge. This is a self service apartment at Elizabeth Street. The rooms are small, the telly remotes were mismatched and some lightbulbs were blown out. The washer/dryer didn't work either. Told the hotel of the issues but couldn't get them fixed as they were off in the weekends. Not their fault. Finally... More

It is clean and it is in the heart of the city! I got Studio room! It has everything including cook utilities as well as coffee, tea and milk. Also, there is washing machine with its soap. However, there is no 24h reception and little expensive!

Stayed 4 nights for tennis. Stayed in room 417. Room is at the back of building and very quiet. Gets the sun in the afternoon so can be hot. A/c worked but could have been better. We had 1 bedroom apartment. Was quite small but was very clean. Great Asian restaurants at door steps bottle shop as well. 100 metres... More

Great location and modern kitchen and bathroom. This is the first 4 star hotel I have ever stayed that doesn't provide a shower cap and rubbish removal. I had to throw out my own rubbish downstairs. Lounge and TV needs replacement as TV was tiny.

Pretty basic single room, nice and clean and the wall to seperate the bedroom from the living room is nice. We paid extra for a balcony, which was really small and definately not worth it, we were not high enough in the building and there was heaps of construction at the time. 2 hours of free wifi. The service at... More

I stayed here with my sister in October 2015. We paid extra for an apartment with a balcony, it was tiny, but meant we had natural light from the street. The apartment was very small, but had a sitting room, kitchenette and bedroom with two single beds in it. The room was quiet, we never heard anyone else. There was... More

Very spacious 2 bedroom apartment with all the facilities provided- kitchen was adequate, washing machine and comfy beds. We stayed at room 209 which was okay- noises coming from the construction building across the road didn't bother me much as we were out whole day.wifi for us limited to around 2 hours per day.. But it's okay as we used... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
