I spend 3 night at the hostel, and was ok for the price I had one bed in a 4 bed room The rooms are really small and if your roommate stand near u is difficult to do something Is a huge hostel with 100s of rooms, big kitchen for cooking but, but the chill area was not really comfortable.... More

I stayed in Melbourne as a tourist, so I expected long days away from the hotel and would just need a place to sleep in and stash my bags. This hostel was perfect for that purpose. Price-wise, it was cheaper than a hotel rate. I stayed in their private rooms the entire time, and found the mattresses to be comfortable,... More

Its in the middle of the city, close to the train station. The hostel is big, easy to meet people. Although the dorms don't have enough plug sockets, which makes it impossible to charge your phone. The free breakfast is good, especially the pancakes. Every night the hostel organises activities, and promotes them very well.

This hostel is 100% the worst hostel ive stayed in. For a start the staff are ignorant and have no communication skills, generally dont have a clue whats going on between them. As well as that ive never been in a more stuffy, boiling hostel in my life. If a hostel gets that hot surely some sort of airconditioning should... More

I sleep in the 4 bed room that's quiet small and only have 1 window and 1@2 power socket (can't remember where the second one is). The power socket is near to the floor so it means my electronics are everywhere on the floor while charging and risk of been step on by my room mates. Thankfully one of the... More

Not the best first stay for a backpackers. Staff were okay, yet seemed incompetent. Other guests were incredibly loud all day and night, yelling, slamming doors etc, not to mention drunk and sleazy at all hours. Room- tiny and uncomfortable Bathrooms are disgusting, doesn't look like the showers have been cleaned in years, need a good bleaching. From what I... More

I stayed 12 days in this hostel and it was awesome! I was sleeping in a 16 bed dorm but actually there were just 12 beds in our room! Everything was clean and in this way it was easy to meet people. The kitchen area is big and there is a cozy couch-area around the corner. I must say -... More

The hostel itself is very nice and clean. We stayed in the budget private room and even though it's very small, it was big enough for us. The toilets in the hallway were ok and clean but other hostel guests weren't very considerate and every time I went to the toilet there was poo in at least 2/4 toilets. The... More

Stayed here a few days before leaving Australia for good, so I was worried about having all my luggage. Booked a 16-bed room, and it was extremely spacious which was great, it didn't feel like 16 people at all. The hostel has a great vibe, and offers a lot. The free breakfast is good and the cinema room is awesome!... More

Stayed for 2 nights here in the city for a short break away from staying with family in the northern suburbs of melbourne. Hostel is nice. I was in a 4 bed dorm and they are very small and cramped. I had a friend in a 6 bed dorm and they are much nicer and have a lot more floor... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
