Stayed here two nights as we were just passing through st kilda and would highly recommend this place for short/long term. Rooms/beds were clean and there are always staff at hand to help with anything. Kitchen is good and there's a DVD room to kick back in. There's pretty much something on every night so it's easy to meet people... More

We are a backpacking couple that arrived in Melbourne looking to settle down and work for a few months. We found home travellers motel in st kilda after enquiring at base hostel which was far too overpriced and just down the road. Home travellers is a cosy, informal and chilled out hostel that has good communal areas and a great... More

Home Travellers is a small sized Hostel which I loved because it has a familial and personal aspect. I spent 5 months living there and felt like it was my home. There are a lot of outside areas for those who like that, but also cozy tv room/kitchen or you can go to the reception where the guys working there... More

The Home Travellers Hostel is a very good backpacker in Melbourne (St Kilda) near the beach of St Kilda... The staff is perfect and the rooms are really clean. Good position with tramways front the hostel. Enjoy your trip in Melbourne !!!

I stayed here for 3 months and loved it. The majority of people there were long termers as they all worked in and about Melbourne doing various jobs. Everyone got on really well and it felt like a big family, was a sad day when I had to leave. The staff (Alex joe and dave) were great, always up for... More

Just literally got back from a five night stay. Absolutely brilliant place to stay. We had a private room which contains a little kitchenette area and a private bathroom. We have stayed in a good few hostels around the world and this was one of the best. It isn't luxurious, is a bit dated and could do with a lick... More

When I stay at a hostel, I like air conditioning no matter what the temperature outside. Firstly, one of my mates farts a lot so I need air flow. Website should be updated to inform of what rooms have a/c. Opening the windows was essential due to the smell, but really sucked because we were at the front of the... More

I did not love this hostel, which is sad because I really wanted to. First, the positive. I booked a room in a 5 bed dorm and was lucky to get the single bed. I'm a light sleeper, so it was nice to not have anyone rocking the boat. The ensuite bathroom had a decent shower, and the location of... More

Too start the staff were great friendly and very helpful, anything you needed they were there to help which is very reassuring! But that's about the only good thing. Though we only stayed in Home for a night it was definitely long enough. We'd booked a full week and checked out the morning after our first night. That gives some... More
