I stayed here for 3 months and loved it. The majority of people there were long termers as they all worked in and about Melbourne doing various jobs. Everyone got on really well and it felt like a big family, was a sad day when I had to leave. The staff (Alex joe and dave) were great, always up for... More

Just literally got back from a five night stay. Absolutely brilliant place to stay. We had a private room which contains a little kitchenette area and a private bathroom. We have stayed in a good few hostels around the world and this was one of the best. It isn't luxurious, is a bit dated and could do with a lick... More

When I stay at a hostel, I like air conditioning no matter what the temperature outside. Firstly, one of my mates farts a lot so I need air flow. Website should be updated to inform of what rooms have a/c. Opening the windows was essential due to the smell, but really sucked because we were at the front of the... More

I did not love this hostel, which is sad because I really wanted to. First, the positive. I booked a room in a 5 bed dorm and was lucky to get the single bed. I'm a light sleeper, so it was nice to not have anyone rocking the boat. The ensuite bathroom had a decent shower, and the location of... More

Too start the staff were great friendly and very helpful, anything you needed they were there to help which is very reassuring! But that's about the only good thing. Though we only stayed in Home for a night it was definitely long enough. We'd booked a full week and checked out the morning after our first night. That gives some... More

I really liked the hostel. It's quite small, personal and cheap. It is in St. Kilda, which is a nice part of Melbourne, but quite a way from the center. If one doesn't mind the distance to the center, I can really recommend to stay there. Only real minus: no free wifi (2$ per hour).

In the past year, I have been back to Home Travellers Motel 4 times. It is without doubt, my favourite hostel in Australia. It's in the heart of St Kilda with a tram to the city across the road. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and always up for a chat whilst the rooms are cleaned every single day. The... More

I just loved being there, i met so many good people, good friends, my roommates were the best ever! my little family away from home. The staff is the nicest i've ever met in this almost 3 years travelling, the kitchen... More

I adore this hostel! It is set up like an actual motel, which I really enjoyed. It's nice to be able to walk out your door and be right outside with everyone else staying there. People are always hanging out at the picnic tables downstairs, and it's so easy to just step outside and make friends. Definitely a fun place... More
