I have stayed in my fair share of hostels around the world and i can safely say this was my most enjoyable experience. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and are happy to help at any hour. The dorms are great, kept clean and tidy by some excellent staff and the beds are perfectly comfortable. The 11 o'clock curfew is... More

Stayed here for the month in October 2014 to finish off my first year WHV in Aus. Made some great friends in my room, who made me very welcome and instantly felt part of the family. As with any hostel, the kitchen gets quite busy between around 6 and 9pm each night, but is mostly kept very clean by the... More

I like doing a pros/cons list but it's not needed on this one We stayed here for three nights. Couldn't wait to leave by the end. We found St.Kilda overrated and I'd only do a day or two day trip at most in hindsight. Our room was full of long term people which the people were good but it was... More

Very nice hostel with friendly staff and a good place to meet people. I stayed here for 3 weeks already and there are many people who also stay for a longer period but it is also fine for if you are traveling around and want to see places in st kilda. Kitchen gets cleaned 3 times a day and the... More

It was a shared dorm & it was filthy! It didn't look like it'd been properly vacuumed or cleaned reguarly enough & the t.v was giving"no signal"(like the 1 in the shared lounge room,it only worked for about 1 hr & a 1/2).The kitchen was so cramped & no stove,it looked like just some elements to cook on.Staff were supposted to... Hometravellers is just the best hostel I have stayed in during my travels so far! The staff is awesome and always good for a joke, the location is really close to the beach and it's easy to reach the city which tops everything up. The hostel itself is really clean and offers an equipped kitchen, tv room, table tennis and... More

I stayed here for long stays (3 months) and short stays (a week). The staff were great. Patience of saints. They were so tolerant of all the types of people that come together in places like this and really tried to make sure the place was enjoyed by all. Some nights it was loud, sure but its a hostel. Many... More

Stayed here two nights as we were just passing through st kilda and would highly recommend this place for short/long term. Rooms/beds were clean and there are always staff at hand to help with anything. Kitchen is good and there's a DVD room to kick back in. There's pretty much something on every night so it's easy to meet people... More

We are a backpacking couple that arrived in Melbourne looking to settle down and work for a few months. We found home travellers motel in st kilda after enquiring at base hostel which was far too overpriced and just down the road. Home travellers is a cosy, informal and chilled out hostel that has good communal areas and a great... More
