A convenient location for a late-night arrival into Melbourne (lots of restaurants and convenience stores around that are open late). Clean and tidy, albeit tired/old and basic furniture and bedding. Fairly expensive for what is more backpacker-grade accommodation. Did bring me back to my University days, many years ago!

Although a bit tight for room, these units are very nicely priced for a couple and child or small group adults. Nicely located near china town, well worth considering if only staying a couple of nights or if only one or two of you.

I booked before i read reviews on here saying that the hotel was quite a poor standard and was worried for what i was in for. The 2 bedroom room we stayed was quite cramped for 5 of us especially access to the balcony (blocked by our sofa bed and tv stand) . The facilities were sufficient with a kitchen,TV,... More

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The rooms are small and dirty. Ended up stepping on the carpet pins along side the tiles in the kitchen (which were exposed). Bad service and really bad car parking thats not on site.

We were very disappointed as although we didn't expect the ritz we did expect it to be clean. The bathroom was very dirty. The double bed had hollows where you slept. Doors off bedrooms didn't open although there were balconies. Bed linen was clean but only one thin towel each and a bath mat. No hand towels or face cloths.... More

Don't get me started on this place - don't stay here ever. For a start the opening hours of the reception are whacked and they are never there or never on time (imagine waiting outside the reception for it to open at 9am...and they still can't get there on time). My friend and I also walked in on the old... More

Being our first trip to Melbourne last month I was unsure of where to stay. From what I saw on the internet it looked fairly decent... Location was a plus as we were near the free city tram circuit and the old Melbourne goal also QV building for food shopping down the road and China town. The downside was we... More

Recently booked into a 2 bedroom apartment but after checking it out decided to move to another hotel. There is a multi story car park being built next door, so close we could have had a conversation with the builders from our room, and as you can imagine it's noisy. The room was a lot smaller than we expected and... More

My family of 5 and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. Our week stay was pleasant and the apartment was spacious enough for everyone to have our own space. It's a 2 minute walk from the Central Shopping Centre, and only 5 minutes from china town. It's easy to get everywhere from here.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
