Weird room layouts. High road traffic noise-- needs double glazing. Well equipped kitchen for self catering style stay. Shame all crockery was dirty. Odd furniture-- looks like they've furnished from the op shop. Shoddy condition - spotlight hanging out of fitting. No extractor fan in bathroom/ laundry. Limited underground parking. Great location for vicinity to harbour and wharf however -... More

Hi jacbski. Thank you for giving feedback on your recent stay with us. We have shared your comments here at property level as our daily maintenance and housekeeping checks clearly missed your room before you checked in. As for the noise from the street; I will ponder what we can do in addition to the double glazing that is already... More

Hotel is a conversion of the 1926 building housing Hobarts first automatic telephone exchange. Room was large and comfortable with a seperate bedroom which could have done with a closing door for a little privacy from the lounge area for TV watching while partner sleeps. Close to Salamanca place and easy access to main road. May be as little over... More

After enjoying first rate accommodation with another couple throughout Tasmania, we ended up in Mantra One Sandy Bay Rd. What a let down. I concur fully with Tim M and Vanessa B's reviews. Seedy, run down, dull, devoid of anything resembling décor but worst of all dirty, with dust on many surfaces, carpet edge coming undone and revolting stains and... More

The room was very large and comfortable. The booking was for 2 adults and a child and the sofa bed wasn't made up. I phoned reception and a fold up bed was delivered immediately - most impressed. Our bed was comfortable and bathroom clean. I always need an iron and it was clean and worked well. The reception staff were... More

We booked our studio apartment through booking.com. The photos on the website are different to the real thing. The website makes it look like a nicely furnished and well maintained room, something that we have learned to expect from the Mantra group. Our price - $256 per night. In actual fact, the room is run down, the couch is old... More

We booked 2 rooms for 8 nights over 6 months ago. Our 2 rooms were consecutively numbered but accessed through different lift wells - rather inconvenient when we have children in one room and adults in the other and to get from one lift well to the other involved walking through the car park. One of the rooms was a... More

This was a one bedroom apartment with kitchenette, laundry, dining. it was spacious and in a good location opposite St Davids park. It was a five minute walk to the city centre, two minute walk to Salamanca Markets, and cafes, and aprox 10 minutes to the Harbour. The only improvement I could make is a more comfortable bed. I found... More

We stayed in Mantra for four nights in a one bedroom apartment. The apartment is decently sized and equipped with dishwasher, breakfast facilities and washing machine. We stayed 3 nights here whilst visiting friends in Hobart. We frequently come to Hobart and usually stay at one of the traditional hotels. We thought we'd try the Mantra for its location and price.
