Rooms are clean. Toilets and showers too. The receptionists were fine. Free internet, that's nice (I'm writing with it now!). Not far from the centre with the Salamanca market. We were 3 guys of 23 years old. It's 11pm and I don't hear any noise. We have already come here 5 days ago and we came back because we were... More

Stayed for 5 nights and didn't get a whole lot of sleep. Noisy up until midnight most nights, then from 6am the next day. Bed was more an outer spring than inner spring mattress, padding all but non-existent, not too comfortable. Light fixture hanging off wall in bathroom (exposed wires), disconnected smoke alarm, paper thin walls, and 3 am visit... More

Very basic hostel. I stayed in a large dorm room and there is no storage space except for under the beds. The wifi was free but inconsistent. The bathrooms weren't very clean but usable. Great location to the harbor so easy walk everywhere I needed to go.

Getting accommodation in Hobart around New Year is quite frankly, a nightmare. I booked the BH in October and was pleased to get a dorm room for excellent value. However, beware, rooms at the front are opposite Woolworths and their trucks unload every morning around 4 a.m. So! If you are a light sleeper, request a room at the back.... More

Wonderful makeover here. Cosy, interesting, eclectic decor with many different corners to choose from. Food was very interesting - best parmi selection ever. Even a vegetarian option! Service was very good and prices reasonable. Don't be put off by the backpacker tag. This is quite upmarket!

Bathrooms are terrible. I couldn't sleep well because of the noise and the bad quality of the mattress. It was the worst hostel I have ever stayed in my life. Location is good but I do not recommend this hostel. Room was stuffy.

I stayed here for a night. The pub is great - They are the second oldest in Australia afterall. Their restaurant serves yummy parmi - do try it out. I loved mine. Private rooms are good - cozy and beautiful with old wooden furniture. But the rest rooms are not agreeable. Extremely cramped and the wash basin was ridiculously small... More

I stayed in a female dorm room at the Brunswick Hotel for 6 nights. The room I was in was a little stuffy so we had to have the window open most of the time, which meant that they noise from downstairs became quite loud. The bathroom closest my room was clean but frequently ran out of paper towel. Laundry... More

Room clean enough, bathrooms not great, WiFi doesn't work well. Building needs a fair bit of maintenance. The common area is a courtyard out the back, with clear roofing over. Some of the roof sheets are not screwed down anymore, some are being held down by bricks and others just bang endlessly on a windy night. I suggest going to... More

The room smells like sweaty buttcrack. Not my buttcrack. Some awful backpacker's that hasn't chucked a deuce since Prague. HAZMAT. The reception lady seems nice even if she does have to fish out the aircon remote from the storage locker because apparently people keep stealing them. My major issue is that I reckon Chernobyl probable is better for your health... More
