This is a motel oozing an old world charm. If you're looking for a homely experience, here's one waiting. High on a hill looking out towards Sandy Bay, you'll find a clean and functional place offering off-street parking. A blast from the past, almost in a time warp. You'll feel instantly at home at a budget to suit.

Receptionist was lovely, even allowed us to use the laundry after hours. Room was nice and clean. It's perched on a hill so we wouldn't recommend walking to and from the city. Very quiet surroundings, definitely had a peaceful stay. Lots of amenities i.e. microwave, oven, hotplates, huge tv with lots of channels to choose from, fridge, nice lounge area... More

Mayfair is an old world gem ( this relates to the mani building) staff were very helpfull with advice and directions and assisted us with a room to suit our disabled son. The rooms were large and olde world with charm and history. Close to town and attractions.

The motel is about 1km out of town but steeply uphill, so a car is certainly needed if you are going to eat in town and then get back to the motel. Friendly greeting and smooth check in. The room was large and had everything you needed (fridge/microwave/flat screen TV) but it was sorely in need of refurbishment. It's all... More

The Mayfair has an old world charm which is sadly missing from most modern motels. Very spacious rooms with a queen and single bed, ( the most comfortable bed I have slept in for years) and a large flat screen television. The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. A small refrigerator with a jug of real milk, tea and coffee... More

We were a little intrigued on checking in that we were going to be staying in a house at the back of the Mayfair. It turned out to be a late 70's / early 80's red brick veneer house which deflated our excitement momentarily but, once we got in & settled we realised that it was a really comfy, family... More

Good surprise for a Motel. Good welcoming with explanations in detail. Rooms are big with a nice old fashioned english style, from the Armchair to the bathroom and all is super clean. What's more we appreciated the pack breakfast, served on time sharp. Definitely an good place!

i like the look of the motel, very clean and cozy to stay, just a little far from the Hobart CBD. It is quiet at night and can see the overview of the city Hobart, i enjoy staying here, and it is special, different from an ordinary hotel.

The hotel was a journey to the old world charm, the room is very spacious with a modern bathroom and microwave with small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, The decoration take you back to the golden days of history with carpet to match, We enjoyed the week we spend there, Also the car park is essential as the hotel although walking... In my recent trip to Hobart I had a severe asthma attack on Friday night which required ambulance. Mayfair staff were great made me comfortable in office while ambos arrived , I went to Hospital and my wife and her friend were looked after by Mayfair staff who could not do enough to help.
