Not a bad place to pull up for a night or two or maybe longer. Found the room was large enough to be comfortable for at least three people with basic facilities. Has tea/coffee facilities, room heaters and decent bathroom. This is a well managed property and the location is handy for a downhill run into town.No problem with noise... More

Fell in love with this character filled property up on a hill overlooking Hobart. We stayed in one of the apartments in the old house and loved the quaint decor - a mix of original, 70s and modern appliances. The rooms were huge and ours had a fantastic big bay window. The staff were friendly and obliging and even put... More

My family and I have stayed here every time we come to Hobart. The rooms are old but clean, tidy and cozy. Reasonably priced aswell. We have stayed in both sections of this motel, out the back are self contained apartments with lots of room for the whole family, there is a laundry too. Over all if your looking for... More

Stayed there 4 days at the beginning and 2 days at the end of a 2 week Tassy driving holiday.Location pretty close to CBD without the noise. Bus stop to city centre outside hotel, pub and bottle shop around the corner.Hobart is hilly so this hotel is up on a hill with awesome views. If you want quiet go upstairs, but be... More

We stayed at the Mayfair on Cavell on 2 occasions in November. Both stays were for 2 nights. The rooms were clean and roomy and the staff efficient and friendly. The motel is close to the CBD and the Salamanca precinct. We had a top floor room for our first stay and a ground floor room the second time. The... More

We stayed in one of the bessa block standard rooms on the ground floor, where you heard everyone coming down the stairs and getting ready to leave in their cars. While it is inexpensive compared to other accommodation, you get what you pay for - very dated furnishings, old double bed where you move every time your partner moves. The... More

We stayed here for three nights recently. If you feel like stepping back in time to 1968 then this is the place for you. The furnishings and bedding were straight out of the 1960s..clean and presentable just dated. The shower pressure was terrific and the bed was comfortable. The only negative was that it's right at the top of a... More

My room did not look like the pictures. It was very old, in need of an upgrade and very dated. The room was musty and dusty though was cleaned after a complaint. The bathroom was adequate though there were no drawers and only found the hair dryer after some searching. Fan didn't work. The staff tried to be helpful at... More

Rooms are musty and a bit run down, but comfortable and spacious all the same. Ok for one night stay, as we were there new years eve and everything was very expensive. Shower was hot and water at a good pressure.

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They fixed a small problem quickly and were great about helping us out when we had requests (taxi, ice, luggage storage, et cetera). The location provides a nice view of the town. The beds were comfortable and it was clean and quiet. Sleep was easy to come by. It is on top of... More
