I booked on line & was happy to find that the rooms had recently been refurbished! New bedspreads, pillows & good decor. Double glazed windows reduce noise to a minimum. All the things I would expect of a CBD hotel & also with free off street parking!! The meal I enjoyed in the cafe/bar area was very good value &... more

We stayed for 4 nights. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the couple of meals we had in the restaurant were lovely. The buffet breakfast was great value. Easy walking distance to tours in Hobart and to shopping. more

We stayed 4 nights on the 5th floor and we were absolutely delighted. The room (512) was beautiful, the staff went out of their way to be helpful and the Restaurant staff could not have been more obliging. We had a fabulous stay and would be delighted to go back. more

We stayed for two nights, having been booked for one and finding it comfortable enough to stay on. The staff (most of them) were helpful and we have no complaints about the room. The room was an "executive suite", but not sure what that meant as it had a bed, a chair and a bathroom. Any lower standard would have... more

Room/floor was supposed to be a 'non-smoking' area but one guest repeatedly stood outside his door smoking so that it filled the corridor (level 5). Reception not interested. Toilet area needed cleaning and noisy pub opposite kept us awake. Door swipe card failed 3 times (we stayed 3 nights) and we wouldn't use the cafe because of poker machines on... more

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of May 2008. We stayed in room 310 (3rd floor). The room had a queen bed and was a good size for just the two of us. The major issue with this hotel is that you can hear the people in the room next door going... more

We (grandmother, daughter and 7 year old granddaughter) stayed at the Mid City Hotel for two separate nights. For the first night (Friday) the room was small and the decor was dated. We weren't too fussed by that but were extremely disappointed that it wasn't clean. The bathroom had mould on the tiles, the towels were well past their use... more

I took a tour group to Tassie and we had five nights in this hotel. It is old and tired and well located like the previous owner stated. My room was very nice - newly renovated but the bathroom is small. They are doing the hotel up I was told It is the communal areas that let the hotel down.... more

The only plus point of this hotel is its location - central and easy to walk to most places you might want to visit in Hobart. However, the actual hotel does not appear to have had any attention since it was built and it is quite shabby. Everything looks old and it feels like the place needs an update. Our... more
