Very comfortable, clean B&B that is nicely decorated located not far from city centre. Generous selection of food (cereal, milk, juice, jam, yoghurt) that is available all day was great. The owner was very friendly. The room is a little dark and can get quite cold but electric blanket was provided that that kept us warm.

Off-street parking, clean comfortable rooms, 5 Star linen, good hot water, ample heating, and great value. We stayed three nights and knew we'd found home. There is a 24 hour toast and coffee kitchen, with cereal, local spreads, milks, soy. Wine glasses you can sneak back your room and sip on local wine and cheese. Everything and more! John, the... Room was frigid cold - had to stuff a towel around the gaps in the bathroom window to keep the wind from howling right through and hitting me in the face while in bed. Bit of mold on the bathroom walls. Shower head sprays water everywhere...the sign asking people to use the shower curtain is useless when the shower head... More

We stayed two nights at this property. Very comfortable, clean and tidy. John the host is very helpful. It is in walking distance to the main areas. Hotel in the next block has great food. We would stay here again. Thank you, John and Helen.

We Stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. John is very kind and accommodating. When we entered in our room the smell was so great. The room is clean and the toilet as well. Breakfast is free. Our room view is The stunning Mt. Wellington. 5 - 10 minutes walk to Salamanca Market and Cbd. Highly recommended.

The owner (John) was very friendly.. We stayed at room 1, close to the street but with a beautiful view of Mt. Wellington in the morning. Breakfast (breads, cereals, coffee, milk, choco drink, and lots of jams). Cookies and baked sweets are always available in the kitchen.. Out flight is late in the afternoon, John offered to keep our bags... More

John makes you feel welcome. Cosy 1910 building with lots of character. Close walking distance to town. Warm comfortable beds with all the amenities at hand. Will stay again when visiting Hobart. Preferably in summer. Happy visitor.

Had a lovely stay here with our 3yr old daughter. Very comfy, clean and thoughtfully laid out rooms with plenty of space. Great breakfast area, well equipped and yummy. John is a wonderful host, and made us feel welcome and relaxed, as well as letting us know things that were going on. A great place to stay.

I am shocked to see the poor rating for this place! It has just recently changed hands and these must be from before new management. My stay here was fantastic. Its a beautiful manour house, well furnished in the style and very clean - a perfect retreat to arrive at after a weeks outdoor camping. John the new owner clearly... More

Unless the AUD takes another plunge, accommodation in Australian cities always is expensive. On the whole, the further out from the CBD you hike, the cheaper. An exception to this is the Edinburgh. It is a relatively inexpensive B & B and small at that. But a six block walk takes you to Salamanca Place (the restaurants & Saturday market),... More
