Have wanted to stay at the Henry Jones for a while now after hearing good comments about it. Boutique property located overlooking the wharf area. We upgraded our room to have a view of the water, the city and Mount Wellington. Room was spacious and well appointed though we did note signs of minor wear and tear on the furnishings... More

I had wanted to stay at the Henry Jones for some time. The building is very interesting with a long history that can be appreciated by just walking through the hallways. The location is good, though there are better options if you want to be close to Salamanca place and the markets. I have stayed at a number of hotels... More

We arrived at The Henry Jones Hotel with 30 minutes before we needed to be on the ferry to MONA. The team welcomed us warmly, offered to park our car, presented a map on where our ferry was departing and enquired as to our dinner plans! What a welcome! Immediately we loved hobart and The Henry Jones. Our room was... More

Brilliant location. Loads of charm from the conversion of the old jam factory. Stylish and well appointed rooms, which are fairly quiet (depending on your neighbours keeping noise down). Comfy beds. Rooms could do with a set of drawers or more shelving. The café in the atrium (Jam Packed) provides a good and cheaper alternative to a full hotel breakfast.... More

Spent a whirlwind 24 hours in Hobart and chose to stay at the Henry Jones as I'd read so many good things about it. It didn't disappoint. The building is a fascinating mix of heritage and modern architecture, and an art gallery. I was in a spacious loft room which was very comfortable, great amenities and peaceful to relax in... More

We spent an extended weekend staying in this brilliant hotel right on Hobart waterfront wharves. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly genuine smiles and felt welcomed and like we were part of the family. Every member of staff was attentive and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The many and varied works of art... More

I had room 202 situated in the original loft space I suspect but which has been transformed into a generous (huge) romantic space for 2 or relaxing space for 1. Very comfortable large bed, contemporary bathroom space with spa bath shaped like an egg. My husband found it a little small but I fitted into it with ease. Top tip,... More

We stayed in a harbour view room with a spa and the room was lovely with a great view onto the harbour, the room had exposed stone, beams and a great bathroom. The bathroom had Molten Brown products which are just lovely and a real winner. The hotel it's self is an adventure with corridors filled with wonderful art. We... More

WOW! What an incredible little hotel. We stayed in the deluxe room, harbour view with the jetted tub. The hotel is immaculate, filled with character, art (obviously) and history. Can't recommend highly enough the historic tour with Emma (daily at 4pm). She was energetic, entertaining and brought the history of Sir Henry and the property back to life. (Maybe it... More

Stayed here for 4 days in August 2014. The hotel was suggested by friends who live in Hobart. The building is a quirky combination of the old and new. A very modern feel to it but lots of exposed beams and brickwork showing its history as a jam factory. Our room was nice and spacious but bearing in mind it... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. ... more   less
