Went to Hobart for a conference at Henry Jones Art Hotel. Food wonderful, staff great, venue awesome room was amazing. What a blend of history and contemporary comfort. A little pricey but you forget that as soon as you snuggle under the nice crisp sheets and sip a Tazzie Pinot Noir watching the movie channel. Seriously, the only criticism is... More

This was an excellent hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We attended a conference here for Global Mark Pty Ltd and the and conference venue and organization was great. The hotel is clean and our room was fantastic. Harbour view room with a spa bath. They have free tours for guests as well as a foodie tour for a small... More

We booked a weekend getaway at this lovely hotel, and stayed in a Standard Harbour View room. It was stunning. Exposed wood beams and rafters, great size, great view of the harbour. Bed was great too, and I don't have the best of backs. The staff were excellent, helping us with every query we had, including recommendations on where to... More

I stayed here for three days recently and was very pleasantly surprised by this fabulous recycled building and the great service. We checked in after flying in from Sydney and the reception lady was really on the ball; she organised tickets to MONA a and rescued the items we had inadvertently left in the car. The room was spacious and... More

We stayed at Henry Jones in July15 for a long weekend away and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Hobart! The hotel is a converted IXL jam factory. The renovation has been very well done, while it still pays homage to its heritage it has added a trendy art theme which makes it as much a... More

Perfectly situated right in the middle of Hobart this old jam factory/warehouse is now an art hotel with quirky and individual rooms adorned with quirky and individual art. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Parking is slightly awkward with limited and timed public parking outside on street. The hotel restaurant is quite good but Hobart has plenty of... More

I was down in Hobart for a business trip and stayed here. Fantastic location along the waterside and really great ambience. Hotel staff are super helpful and great value hotel too. Free valet parking and the breakfast al a carte was quite reasonable. The interior atrium area was a little chilly (it was 9 degrees outside) but the rooms and... More

The Henry James Art Hotel is a wonderful place to stay right on the Hobart waterfront. The art provided by the University of Tasmania visual art students and staff adds a really interesting feature to rooms and public areas. The rooms are beautifully appointed (perhaps the walls are a little thin with next door conversations a little audible) and the... More

History and Art mixed with friendly staff and a great bed. Great location - central to the Hobart dock and restaurants. We splashed out and stayed in the 2 storey Peacock suite. It is the oldest standing Townhouse in Australia with a heritage listed spiral staircase down to the bedroom. The room has a cool overflowing bath for two. Looking... More

A great place for a weekend away but not somewhere I would necessarily return to. I had very high expectations, which were probably not quite met. The architecture is very impressive and the artwork is good. The rooms are getting a bit tired, although our room was comfortably large and had some interesting heritage features from the factory. The staff... More
