Great service at reception, to start with! The young lady was really polite, helpful and agreed to keep our luggage as we arrived well ahead of check-in time. This was a greatly appreciated. Thank you. This service was repeated after we checked-out: they stored our luggage and we were kindly helped retrieve it by the guy from the bar later... More

This is quite a comfortable hotel. The highlights would be its location and enjoyable breakfasts. Its opposite the ferry to Mona, a short walk from Salamanca Markets and a stroll from the centre of the city. The rooms were tiny and I'd suggest guests ask for a room with a view. (We had one overlooking the back construction site)

After finding a sharp bit of plastic in my throat from a spoon full of seafood chowder. The response from the manager was less then professional. Its almost like he didn't understand the situation he could find himself in. So as much as i would like to rate this venue higher, if finding foreign sharp objects in my meal weren't... More

Regardless of the value (and it is certainly good value), the killer turnoff with staying at Customs House Hotel is the noise. It's a pretty hotel, with nice architecture on the outside and well-preserved charm on the inside, and the location is unbeatable if you've got lots of tours lined up, as it's close to the tourist info building and... I have mixed feelings about this place so I'll just try to describe it accurately and you can decide whether it's for you or not. (On balance, we will probably stay here again next time we're in Hobart). Location: Hard to beat - it's across the road from the wharfs, about 1 minute walk to the ferry to MONA, 2... More

We stayed here overnight. Well positioned and reasonably priced. Simple but adequate facilities. A little noisy later in the evening but double glazing kept it to a minimum. Great staff and an excellent breakfast.

We have just stayed at Custom House Hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The position of the hotel is fantastic, right on the waterfront, walking distance to everything. The hotel was reasonably priced and included a cooked breakfast. We booked a room for 2, and ended up with a 2 bedroom self contained apartment. Would definately stay here again!

Spent NYE 2014 perched on stools on the pavement at this corner pub for drinks only. Also had a few drinks here over a day stay in Hobart. Can't comment on the food or the accommodation. Service from the bar was very good for the time of year, efficient and friendly and it's not a bad spot for people-watching. NB... More

No sleep in the Waterfront room, noise all night long on a Tuesday night. Also didnt help renovation sin the hotel started at 7am the next morning. There is no service after 6pm which is not helpful when you are looking for a recommendation for a restaurant. The bathroom was odd with a blocked shower head and and a sink... More

We stayed here for three nights and found it was a great central point for everywhere we wanted to visit. The rooms were very basic but we were so busy we were never really in the room. Breakfast was included in the price, which was an added bonus. The food was excellent too! We had a hire car and found... More
