I am even reluctant to review this hostel with one star - the only star it gets is for the location My partner and I arrived for check in to be greeted with a dirty room. The doorframe had loose gaps around it so we could hear people in the hallway. There were stains on the sheets and bogies on... More

There is a member of staff here that is rude and spiteful which ruins your stay here. This man made a comment about my full cup of tea and unfinished breakfast on the table. Wanting me to clean up my 'mess' before I had even finished. Also. I am a hairdresser and had two guys coming to have a cut.... More

Dear Laura, We are sorry to hear that your stay with us was not very pleasant and that there was a confusion with your work. Our reception was not aware of the fact that you would be doing various hair cuts in the building. Our management did not feel comfortable with this as at the time you were not a... More

Great sized rooms! there was five of us and we wanted to book out a 6 bed room. However none was available but they were very accommodating and gave us a 12 bed room with lounges and all. Nice communal areas. Bathrooms weren't bad, not many showers though. Overall great place and great location.

Fantastic location and my room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is old and dated but the worst thing is the insanely loud hot water system. Every 10 minutes it starts to sing the song of its people keeping the whole place awake. I noticed on here somebody complaining it about it months ago and the owner or manager must... More

Dear guest, If you were unsatisfied with your sheets or room, we would have been happy to move you into a different room if notified. We have a hard working team of cleaners who thoroughly clean the building and room every day and are constantly cleaning up after messy guest that don't clean up after themselves. Room minimal but everything we needed, a very comfy queen bed, lockable locker, window that opened, quiet. Amenities could be a little better, eg, Female toilet/shower room, only one toilet!!! 2 showers, Males had 2 toilets & 2 showers, really should be the other way round. Location excellent right in the heart of Hobart, only max 15 minute walk to... More

I was in a single room on the first floor overlooking the rear of the building. Foolishly because I was in a private room and not in a dorm, I neglected to bring a pair of ear plugs. Other guests sat chatting at the outdoor table at the rear of the building, not talking in normal/quiet voices but loudly talking/shouting... More

Dear Guest, Unfortunately to your dismay this is a backpackers and guests are more than welcome to sit in our outside area and have a bit of fun. Our night security will always shut it down if it is too loud or before it gets to early morning. As for our 'inadequate staff', this is a very busy time of... More

I'm an older young at heart lady visiting my daughter in Hobart. I stayed in this backpackers hotel from 18th December until 3rd January (give or take a few days in between). It was the most wonderful experience! Friendly helpful staff, beds and mattresses were just what the doctor ordered after a long day in beautiful Hobart. Management in reception... More
