I stayed at the Mecure hotel Hobart at the end of July with my elderly Mother for 3 nights. We stayed in one of the standard rooms on the 1st floor, and found it very satisfactory for our needs. The Hotel is in a quite handy position to get to the CBD and other areas of interest. Staff that I... more

I travelled to Hobart with my family (partner and kids, aged 4 and 7). We stayed one night at this hotel in a family room. Room was nice, although a bit musty so we left a window open for our stay. We decided to have dinner and breakfast in our room as the kids were tired the first night and... more

Mercure looks old and tired on the outside but has been done up recently internally. Rooms are run of the mill fare. Internet in house us through Telstra. Front desk told me that it was capped at $27.50 per day for Mercure customers, but after 2 hours it kicked mr off and charged me $31! Telstra help line could not... more

We had a comfortable stay in a superior suite at the Mercure Hobart in March 2009. Our room was reasonably sized, clean, comfortable and had views over the city. The bedroom area had been recently updated and the bathroom had been partially updated (but was becoming worn). The pizzas from the restaurant downstairs were excellent - some of the best... more

Stayed here on arrival in Tasmania, taxi in expensive, but cheaper than the shuttle bus from the airport for 4, how does that work? Seems to be common for Australia. The hotel is an odd mix of old and new, but unfortunately there was a party on in a function room. But it was too late to change hotel and... more

We stayed at this hotel during a recent short holiday to Tasmania. The hotel is located at 156 Bathurst Street Hobart which is within a reasonable walking distance to the Harbour area and a comfortable walk to the shopping area. Car parking was either under the hotel or outside at an adjacent carpark which is locked at night although you... more

I really enjoyed my stay here. The bathroom was modern, white and very clean. The bathtub looked new and wide so I could really soak inside. The showerhead was great too. After a long walk, it was really nice to have a hot soak/shower. The shower gel scented of apple, I liked it. But the shampoo was of low quality.... more

When you stay at a Mercure, you can always expect a certain standard of accommodation and service, at a value price which is similar to what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn so that was exactly what this hotel provided. There is no doubt and no denial that this hotel is old, and is very dated in many areas but... more

We read the reviews, not great but decided to give it a go anyway as at the time of booking most of the places down by Salamanca were quite a bit more expensive. Wished we paid more. The room itself is what you expect. However, first thing we noticed the light didn't work when entering the room. Secondly the bathroom... more
