I should have clued in when the innkeeper described my room as Harry Potter's room under the stairs. It was way too small, barely enough room to walk around the bed. Had to put my suitcase on the bed when I left the room as it was sitting on the floor in the entryway when I was in the room.... More

Jeff and Julie were our hosts here, and made us feel very much at home. Jeff gave us good pointers as to how to spend our days and evenings in and around Hobart. The lodge itself had fantastic period surroundings, a gorgeous and comfortable lounge (complete with treats both alcoholic and sweet), and a lovely atmosphere. The room was well-furnished,... More

Spent three nights in Hobart on business, accompanied by my partner. The National Trust listed property was very original and the atmosphere took us to an earlier time, without lacking on modern day comforts. The hosts Jeff & Julie, provided wonderful service. We were close to the North Hobart restaurant strip and only a short walk to the city &... More

Staying in a historic house was a special experience. Sharing a port and travel experiences with global visitors in the lovely lounge ended the day on a good note. Old fashioned style rooms lacked nothing in modern day comforts. Excellent breakfast in a charming dining room with hosts Geoff and Julie imparting local knowledge. Handy for both the town and... It is so easy to write a review when a place meets and exceeds your expectations- and that is the Lodge on Elizabeth. What a beautiful building and such wonderful hosts! Our room was cozy and had TWO luggage racks. It is funny but in most of our travels there is only one good place for luggage and the other... More

This is a very cozy lodge. Decor are in sync with the home and make you walk carefully! 😃 The wifi is free, breakfast simple but complete. They offer free port in the lounge and the lodge is situated a ten minute walk from the cbd! Enjoyed it!

I loved this hotel, it had such old fashioned charm. My bedroom was gorgeous, with an iron bed and a little balcony. Tea, coffee and biscuits on hand in the room. Old building, but all the mod cons you expect and very clean The guest lounge with complmentary port and chocoates, a bookshelf and DVD shelf to browse, also old... More

Having just spent 30 days touring OZ & Tasmania using 22 different hotels & guest houses this accomadation ranks as one the best . The atmosphere & freindlieness of the place & staff where quality, the facilities was faultless ,the breakfast was described as continental style , however the selection was far greater than continental. The location is central to... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights recently at the beginning of our trip to Tasmania and were so impressed with the hospitality, the comfort and the quality of the accommodation that we tried to stay for a further 2 nights before returning home. Not surprisingly, Jeff and Julie were fully booked (a further testament to their excellence)... More

We had a few days at the Lodge on Elizabeth. Jeff and Julie are wonderful hosts and made our stay there enjoyable. The breakfasts we were treated to were fantastic, much better than the usual fare you get under the guise of a 'continental' breakfast. Delicious. The room we had was lovely. We loved all the little touches, like the... More
