My husband and I stayed at this hotel and loved it! We were on the 11th floor and the hotel has a fantastic view of the harbour at the foyer! You can watch the sunrise and sunset from the foyer. Clean, comfortable, great location and facilities. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Hobart. Really good value... More

I had a couple of nights at the Grand Chancellor for business and then my wife joined me for a long weekend away. We were on the top floor at the back of the hotel with fantastic views of both Mt. Wellington and up the Derwent river. The room itself was good, definitely above average and well appointed. The problem... More

I stayed a night at HGC Hobart this week whilst on a work trip to Hobart to scope out the venues and locations for future conferences. The hotel exceeded my expectation! Recently refurbished, the decor is contemporary with a clean and open feel. I was impressed with the extensive conference facilities that the hotel offers which are in the ballpark... More

excellent location by the waterfront, with easy access to Hobart CBD. Rooms modern, comfortable with king size bed. All comforts you would expect in a hotel in this class. Service by staff of very high standard, both attentive and friendly. Dined both room service dinner and restaurant breakfast. Again, excellent service and found the dinner portion extremely generous and fresh.... More

This is a typical chain hotel with out much personality save for the fantastic ambience offered by the views. That said, the front room we had was very comfortable and newly and tastefully decorated. It was on the 10th floor which I think is the lowest accommodation floor and very noisy traffic wise. We only used the dining room once... More

Many of my reviews don't include any experience of hotel food barring, occasionally, a breakfast. The Grand Chancellor is an exception, having spent five nights here for a conference. Right up front, I'd say I'd be happy enough here for business. It's not my thing for a personal stay an seems to get a lot of conference traffic. I'd been... More

While not the most architecturally stunning building, the location is fantastic. Right on the waterfront and 5 minute walk from Salamanca place and everything else in the nearby area. Staff were friendly and helpful however we were not advised on checkin of the parking costs onsite and when we checked out were presented with a bill. However to the credit... More

Hotel is ideally situated close to many highlights, Salamanca, City Centre, Restaurants, Night Life, Taxis. Lies opposite the harbor, and worth a little extra for a room with a view of the water. Rooms are quite well appointed, however an in room safe would be an improvement. Room sizes are fine. would stay here again.

Stay here with my sisters for one of their birthday. Absolutely no complaints! Recommend this to everyone travelling to Hobart. It is on the harbour, central location. It has the most amazing view of the harbour and the mountains. We got upgraded to the harbour view room which was great! The room was spacious clean and bathrooms are modern. Free... More

I really do think that this is THE best place to stay in Hobart! It is right on Constitution Dock, a very short stroll to some fantastic restaurants, Salamanca Market and the city. My friend & I stayed in an executive harbour side room, two very comfortable queen size beds, spacious room, marble bathroom with shower over bath, two very... More
