I had lunch at the Waratah today and the chicken., bacon and brie pie was delicious. accompanied with mashed potatoes and beans. A really tasty dish. The service was very good and friendly. We'll be back..

Awesome food, good bar prices, cute staff, cheap clean accommodation, short walk to CBD, free parking, regular comedy & music gigs. Laid back, welcoming. Cheapest deal on wotif for weekend accommodation. Few flights of stairs to get to hotel rooms, but hey, that's good for you. I like this place a lot. Obviously has a good vibe on weekends

Just spent four nights here. It was spacious, clean, quiet, within walking distance of Salamanca Place and city shops. Very friendly staff and I'm staying there again. Oh and the clam chowder and salt and pepper calamari are superb and cheap as.

Rooms are basic and not terribly clean. Wires everywhere and a few exposed wires. No hand towel. No tea and coffee in room, but was available on each floor. Shower the worst I have ever had,. Would I stay here again? Yes. It is cheap and cheerful. Bed comfy, staff great, I enjoyed it!

Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Walking distance to the CBD and Waterfront. You might enjoy barbeque and live music evenings during summertime. Anyway it is a nice combination of pub and accomodation. Internet access may be poor in some rooms.

The Waratah Hotel was the highlight of me and my bestfriend's road trip. From the very beginning the staff were extremely warm, friendly and knowledgeable in a multitude or areas - Hobart being the very tip of the iceberg! We were provided a great room with comfortable beds in a spacious and homely room. There were activities planned each night... More

The Waratah provided a clean and comfortable base for our stay in Hobart. It was within walking distance of the waterfront and Salamanca Market. Staff were friendly, breakfast was great and the Sunday BBQ was fab! WIFI was available in the dining room but not in our room. Overall a good stay.

Friendly staff and a great location - you can easily walk into town and it is just 5 minutes' walk to the restaurants and bars on Elizabeth Street in North Hobart. We had a double room with ensuite bathroom on the top floor- the bed was comfortable, with nice bedding, and the shower was nice and hot (the bathroom has... More
