Really nice place. The staff is helpful even if they are little bit slow to do the check-in. The kitchen and communal room are quite big and the hostel organize a nice 4 hours tour around coober pedy. Beds could be better and the dorm is basically a huge room with 30-40 beds because there is no doors to separate... More

We stopped over on our way to darwin. The thing that's drew us in was sleeping under ground. We took the budget twin room with shared facilities it was basic and maybe a little over priced but ok. The only real problem was the cleanliness wasn't quite up to scratch, things could have been cleaner. Otherwise it was a good... More

A old unhappy man who clearly doesn't like his job and people keep the reception. The check-out being at 9am he literally threw me out!!! for the only motif that it was 8h50, even I left the room much before, he didn't want me on his land at 9am exactly, refuse that I use the "luggage room" after 9am that... Well if you want to get a terrible nights sleep it's perfect! You walk downstairs into a long corridor and on one side there are arches, inside them there are bunk beds. Which means no doors, you and all your stuff is out in the open. You an hear people's alarms really well in the morning since it echoes through... More

We stayed here during our trip from Darwin to Melbourne. I wanted to experience underground accommodation at a reasonable price. The accommodation was affordable and we took a twin room underground which included 2 single beds and a chair. There was a light but as it is underground there were no power points to charge phones etc. Once we got... More

We stayed for one night in the Radeka Downunders hostel accomondation. Room: We had double room which located under the ground section of the Hostel/Motel. The room was very comfortable, clean and had good temperature for sleeping (around 20-25c). In room there was bedlinen, towel and soap available. Facilities: The cooking facilities and toilets located on the groundlevel. Cooking area... More

My companions and I enjoyed staying here for a night on our trip north. Staying underground was cool, staff was great, and clean accommodations. I would recommend it for backpackers! I left my wallet in the room and the management was so kind and helpful to work with me, returning it to my possession. Many thanks to them!

I was booked into radekas as part of an organised trip to Uluru, my stay here made me wish that I hadn't broken the journey up with a stop over & stayed on the bus to Alice springs. After a 5am arrival, we checked in to the hostel. A 20 minute affair, involving no computers, getting grumbled at for not... More

This place is just passable for one nights experience. In theory, it sounds good when you look at the website. Hostel rooms down underground. I booked a dorm in a 4 bed. However, there is no doors on any of the dorm type areas underground so it might as well be advertised as a 30/40 bed dorm as you hear... More

we rocked up just after the massive dust storm blew past, and it nearly blew us away too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and gave us a few options for our stay. We stayed just the one night as it was our base to get onto the Oodnadata track. You cannot expect too much in the middle of nowhere... More
