Mum had been here 20 years ago and wanted to share that experience with me. She stayed in backpackers (aged 60) last time but this time we upgraded to motel room. She was not wrong it was very cool underground which was needed as temperature outdoors reached 43. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi in reception only but ok once... More

So we stayed 1 night in the hostel dorm accommodation there under ground and paid $30 each off season. They need to get the little things right, like making sure all the lights work in the bathroom, install a shower screen / curtain to stop your clothes getting wet. The tv room didn't have a tv remote & the couches... More

This time stayed in one of the small motel rooms. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Have stayed in a couple of other places in town but this is the cleanest. Reception is open long hours. Always happy to stay here. A credit to all the staff.

We stayed at an underground backpacker dorm at the Radeka's. It's a unique experience to stay underground in Coober Pedy. And you can cool down on a summer day when it's 40+ outside at ground level. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The facilities are really good. The underground dorms are setup with limited facilities, but that adds to... More

We were 4 people who did the trip Adelaide - Uluru/Ayers Rock by car during the September 2015. Coober Pedy is a small town between these two spots and Radeka Motel is a fantastic place to sleep. Confortable beds at reasonable prices. The best thing was the temperature: While outside was more than 30 ºC, at the beedrooms sheets and... More

We booked into a motel room after arriving into town late. The owner is very sweet and moved the bus so we could park - it was a busy night and the carpark was full. The rooms are not at all fancy, but absolutely spotlessly clean. The only criticism would be the wheeled bed on the tiled floor - every... More

We have been here a few times now about 7 years apart and in 2 different types of rooms. For what they were, they were perfectly acceptable. A bit out of date though. 'Free' wifi, pool table and bar for lazy evenings during non peak season

The idea of an underground hotel is undoubtedly interesting, but the way it was built..... anyway, we booked what we thought was a private room (ok, with no toilet or shower), but the so called "rooms" are divided by plasterboard "walls" that don't even go all the way up to the ceiling, so that people sleep in cubicles rather than... Stayed here one night on our way to Alice springs The accommodation is so unique and different. We stayed in an underground room which while basic was clean and comfortable and quiet. Recommend you take the trip down the stairs through the back packers dorms in through the tunnel bringing you back out near reception Anyone going through Coober Pedy... More

Really nice place. The staff is helpful even if they are little bit slow to do the check-in. The kitchen and communal room are quite big and the hostel organize a nice 4 hours tour around coober pedy. Beds could be better and the dorm is basically a huge room with 30-40 beds because there is no doors to separate... More
