Everyone who goes to Coober Pedy must experience this hotel. It is underground and just be aware there are no windows so some people could feel claustrophobic. The furnishings are not that of a 4 or 5 star hotel however the welcome and overall experience was. It was great to see the underground tunnels and Rob gave us a really... More

I was underwhelmed by this property. The rooms are fairly dated, the rock was beautiful in the rooms what was missing was some stylish lightning to bring out the rich colours. Comfortable and clean just asking a bit much at a standard rate of 210. Hallways had some unusual decor, going for home like looking but felt a bit forced.... More

I would like to share our great experience in the underground hotel Comfort Inn Coober Pedy. First of All we would like to thank You to the very nice owners - the whole family, that we met there. They told us a lot of interesting stories about this place. We spent almost one month in Australia travelling, but this was... More

We stayed two nights at the Comfort Inn. We were greeted by Debbie on arrival, who checked us in and gave us information on where we should go and what we should seen. This family run motel is like staying with good friends, an absolute pleasure. Debbie's family actually fitted out the hotel and found some beautiful opals in the... More

An overnight stay in transit and an opportunity to get a taste of living underground. Very comfortably appointed rooms with a homely feel. A shame there is no on site dining available for lunch or dinner but more reason to go and explore this fascinating town.

As would be most tourists to Coober Pedy, we were keen to experience the uniqueness of an underground hotel, and in that respect, the Comfort Inn did not disappoint. The rooms are cut into a hillside, and though the furniture and decor are quite dated, the overall feel combined with the lovely service is that of staying at a friend's... More

We have stayed in motels cabins and caravan parks all over australia and you would be hard pressed to have a better experience. The experience goes above and beyond the advertising. The staff are family and make you feel like you are coming home not a stranger. The rooms are so quiet and peaceful and well appointed. The history of... More

Stayed here 3 nights mainly because of reviews on TripAdvisor. First impression from outside was a bit worring did not look all that promising. But when you go inside its breath taking words cannot describe the deference between in side and out.as they say don't judge a book by its cover. The reception /main hall way are incredible now for... More

We chose this hotel to get a chance to experience underground living, and we were not disappointed. BUT, for those of you wanting a posh 4-5 star experience often available for this cost, this is not for you! The hosts were wonderfully warm and friendly, but very low key, and "homey" As was the decor. The room was great, comfortable,... More
