It was quite an experience to spend one night at this motel with the funny name. The stone walls gave the room a special character. The furnitures are a bit old, the bathroom, however, was nice. The staff is friendly.

Good location next to bus station and across road from information centre. Receptionist was fantastic, friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, good size. Looked nice and modern. Air conditioner took a little time to cool room but effective through the night. Breakfast OK. Free wi-fi good.

The room was very clean and tidy. Tracy at reception was great. She was very friendly and helpful, she told us where was the best places to eat. The shower was great and the beds very comfortable. The location of our room was great because we left early and didn't wake the other guest up at 0600hrs.

Arrived in 44 degrees and the room was already cool, the air con going on ensured my sleep was excellent. Lagre clean room with a double and single beds (would have preferred a light doona than blanket - but thats my personal preference). Free WIFI - excellent offering - something Australian hotels in general don't offer, so a very welcome... More

The rooms were very clean and tidy and the room was cool! Free WIFI is always a nice surprise!! I would have no issues in recommending The Mud Hut to anyone passing through just needing a good sleep for the night and a shower in the morning prior to getting on the road again for a long day ahead.

Very nice manager was at airport to pick us up. Our room was spacious and clean. Arrangements were made for a tour of the opal mines, and great suggestion for dinner. Breakfast at hotel was prepared by the same manager and was delicious. Definitely recommend.

First--the good 1. we were picked up promptly at the airport. And returned two days later. 2. Very unusual motel--engineers, architects and geologists would especially find it interesting. The dirt walls look like cork. 3. The evaporative cooling unit really does cool, but the constant noise and blowing drove us crazy after a while. And we used to live with... More

we were on our way to Darwin & this was day six of the trip & it was getting to the "are we there yet?" stage so having a good place to spend the night is important. The Mud Hut Motel definitely fits that bill. Large well appointed rooms. A secure place to park close to your room. Well within... More

After spending all day driving in a car it was lovely to arrive at a very clean and spacious accommodation. The room was lovely and up to date with technology - plenty of USB ports to charge phones and iPads. The free wifi was also a lovely surprise. We chose to stay at the Mud Hut as it was pet... More

We chose the Mud Hut as it was middle of the range in price and my wife does not like being underground. Unfortunately the restaurant was not functioning during our visit, but the manager was very friendly and she went out of her way to recommend eating establishments in the town. She also saw that we had maps and information... More
