At first we were bummed that Qualia was booked, but after 5 days at the Lizard Island Resort, I cannot imagine a better luxury island experience anywhere else in the world. A couple of things, Lizard Islsnd Resort is the only resort on the island and the room rate is all-inclusive. Chartered flight into the island offers a gorgeous aerial... More

Have recently been on our third trip to the island and stayed for 7 nights. My husband and I love the place. We are keen snorkellers and love walking down to the beach first thing of a morning for a snorkel in the sheltered bay. Having access to a motorised dinghy is a plus for exploring beaches and islets around... More

If you like to get away from it all to enjoy what the natural world has to offer and still have a bit of luxury, this is the perfect destination. It is certainly tucked away off the beaten path. We took a plane from the US to Sydney and then another to the Port Douglas/Daintree area. After that journey, we... More

The resort is great. We stayed in the "cheapest" room and it had great views and great accommodations. The food is excellent. A highlight of the trip was when we got to take one of hte private boats by ourselves to a hidden island. We had forgotten to bring the cooler the resort packed for us, but they tracked us... More

My husband and I visited Lizard Island Resort for 4 nights in December 2013, staying in the Anchor Bay suites. I had always wanted to see the Great Barrier Reef and it is as breathtaking and stunning as I had always imagined. As for the Lizard Island resort, we were most impressed with staff. They are all so friendly and... More

We just had the absolute pleasure of staying at one of the most beautiful places in the world. Lizard Island on the northern end of the Great Barrier Reef is one of the most luxurious, relaxing wonderful places we have ever been to. Swimming in Aqua blue water with turtles, looking at magnificent giant clams and coral gardens with millions... More

Summary: incredible island with amazing beaches and access to the wonders of the Barrier Reef. The food is the best that I have eaten at a resort. Worthy of 1 Michelin star or a Zagat rating of 24 to 25. Staff are friendly with western standards of 5 star service. The island is the most Northerly of the resort island... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in the Sunset villas and was treated like royalty from the moment we boarded the plane in Cairns. The food is fine dining and absolutely amazing. Great variety and perfectly prepared. We used one of the small boats and took a lunch picnic to one of the secluded beaches. It was like being the... More

My wife and I came to this resort for our honeymoon about a year and a half ago. In hindsight, we should have stayed longer than 3 days because it was like living in paradise. Our favorite part was being to bring a small dingy out into the water with a packed picnic lunch. We snorkeled and explored some of... More
