The Green Island Resort is a 45 minute ferry ride from Cairns. The round trip ferry charges are included in the room tariff. A glass bottom boat trip and diving gear is only provided complimentary. During the day the resort permits several day tourists and hence it is quite crowded. The day tourists depart at 4pm and after that one... More

We stayed for one night on a package offer at Green Island Resort. We've stayed on two previous occassions and always really enjoyed the rooms at the resort and what there is on offer. On a package, it was better value as it included ferry transfers, snorkelling equipment/wetsuit, huge buffet breakfast, fish feeding, glass bottom boat tour, welcome drinks and... More

Beautiful island, nice clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Need more variation / options on restaurant menus when staying for a week or more. Very quiet and relaxing once all the day trippers go home.

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday on Green island. The local weather was unseasonably cold and windy, so we did not try the windward beaches, but everything else was terrific. The staff at the resort could not do enough for us, the resort provided all the gear we could need to snorkel for free (including... More

Just returned from a 2 night/3 day stay at the resort hotel whilst traveling around Oz. Check in at the reef centre at the port was excellent. A really helpful lady told us everything we needed to know. The crossing was good, on the larger of the 2 Catamarans. Crossings leave at 3 times a day. The walk from the... More

We had a very nice one-night stay on Green Island and I believe it was a great way for our young family to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. However we were disappointed with the food on the island. We were expecting "island prices", so no surprise there. Our disappointment was with the quality on offer. We had dinner at the... More

Great atmosphere. Nice rooms , could be a bit more romantic.. The island is absolutely amazing. There is so many activities to do which is great.. Also the sea life just off the beach for people snorkelling is the best.. Overall really great Island

My 15 year old son & I spent the day at Green Island during our Cairns holiday. It's a beautiful place, well catered for in terms of food & provides toilet & locker facilities plus use of the resort pool. We used the snorkeling gear from the boat we took over to the island. We enjoyed seeing some coral &... More

As an overnight guest at the resort you get great attention on the Island. Snorkelling equipment, including wet suits, was all included, an extra bonus was the availability of prescription goggles for the partially blind amongst us. Overall the accommodation, launch trip was fantastic. However my usual complaint on any small island is that you are a captive market for... More

My husband 13 and 10 year old just spent 5 nights at Green Island Resort. Accommodation was good. Island was fabulous. Loved being on the reef. Great snorkelling off the beach which was amazing. Saw loads of turtles, tropical fish and coral. Food was average and not cheap but we had room service and buffet breakfast which kept costs down.... More
