This place was wretched. It's supposed to be undergoing renovations, but not quickly enough. Some of the staff is helpful and friendly. Most is not. The supposed laundry facilities are limited to two washers and one dryer (the other doesn't work). Need change for the machines? The front counter staff acts as if you are asking for their eye teeth.... more

We were there for two nights with our two young adult kids. We rented a room for them and one for my wife and me. It seems that they have taken the earlier reviews to heart because the furnishings looked modern and we saw no evidence of the wear and tear described in other reviews. They were in the process... more

We stayed in the Holiday Inn in Townsville for two days during our trip to Australia. The location is quite convenient and the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was a decent size and clean. The bathroom is small and does not have much space for your things. The windows would not open and the room had kind... more

Never stayed in the holiday inn townsville before probaly wouldn't rush back, very dated, and the air con rattled all night. I see a referb is underway, will wait and see more reviews before heading back. I agree with other reviews the internet is way over priced. Room service was nice though and the staff very friendly. Felt sorry for... more

Booked a mystery hotel through a well known website, found myself at the Holiday inn. I think I got the drunk tank , complete with urine stains on the floor, cigarette burns in the carpet, window held together with duct tape and a constantly dripping tap in the bathroom. When I asked to change rooms the clerk laughed as he... more

I arrived late in Townsville after a long international trip, and desperately needed a quiet and comfortable lodging. Intercontinental hotels rarely let me down, and I was pleased to find this Holiday Inn available. Check-in was quick with an upgrade provided due to my "Ambassador" status. Elevators and other public facilities getting a little dated, but the room was comfortable... more

After hassle with another hotel, the comfy bed was just what we needed. Townsville's not such a scenic town but night views from balcony were nice. Big full length curtains shut out all night during the day. In-room food was ace and all staff we came in contact with were friendly. Parking's a pain, at $12.50 a day valet and... more

It's one of those hotels that didn't make a negative impression but is in danger of you struggling to recall the name next time you're in the area. It's a clean but dated place - clean but uninspiring. It's in the geographical center of Townsville but I'm not sure that is the center that we all want to be at...... more

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visitng magnetic island, the location is very good and the hotel is clean, the pics on check-in.com.au website which we booked it through made it look much more modern than it actually is, the bed was comfy though. Swipe card kept failing so had to get that re set both days but no... more

The building is extremely ugly externally, but inside the rooms are fine. My room was a suite, and these are (unexpectedly) on the lowest levels of the building. Suite has a small kitchenette and would have been reasonably recently refurbished (although not particularly stylishly). Big problem with the room is the interconnecting door. Located approximately 40cm from my sleeping head... more
