The bathrooms were unisex, which was a bit confronting, but for the set-up,it was quite good. They even given you a lift certain times during the day when the staff go to & from Surfers Paradise, which given the public transport out in Main Beach/Mariners Cove area is very"few & far between",it's a great incentive!

Hi Aviva B, Thanks very much for taking the time to review your stay with us recently. We're thrilled you enjoyed your stay and found our courtesy bus helpful. I do want to mention that our hostel bathrooms are not actually uni sex. Our bathrooms are separate female and male bathrooms, located adjacent to the main common area upstairs near... More

Stayed for 3 nights before heading up north although it's located just outside surfers metropolis this was ideal if you wanted bars n clubs just had to jump on a 705 bus ,this was just across from the fantastic beach and right on the wharf and marina where you had plenty of bars n restaurants , The room I stayed... You get what you pay for with this one. Average hostel, clean rooms and bathrooms, kitchen facilities and tv. Staff were great, couldn't fault them, and always helped with any queries. Overall the hostel just needs a bit of an upgrade because it's a bit out dated, but fine for the young backpacker. However, the one negative is that the... More

Offered what a hostel could offer, and was priced accordingly. Cannot say that the rooms, the bedsheets, etc. was the cleanest I have ever seen, but you get what you pay for. We had a car and the place had good options for parking. But if you need public transport to carry you around, you have to arrange for that... More

I had such a good time on this hostel. There is all you need there: Nice place, nice people, private or share rooms, kitchen and good staff! The kitchen wasn`t clean all the time, but that bad! One of the best thing, is the bottle shop in the next door. :) It`s possible to go to city center walking about... More

My rating of 4 out of 5 is based on the hostel itself, not the location which I thought was a little far from the action in Surfers Paradise. Staff nice, friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. Communal showers and toilets were kept clean too. Easy to meet people here as I met a lot of solo travellers and everyone... More

You get what you pay for with this one. Average hostel with friendly staff. It's clean enough and in a decent location - walking distance to Sea World. Our room, a private double was clean but wasn't the best looking of rooms. Also, I would hardly call Surfers a "Paradise".

I stayed here thinking it was close to the Surfers Paradise however it is not within walking distance. Paper tickets are expensive on the bus. I however managed to spend around $30 for 9 short trips on the Go Card and went all the way to Brisbane and back for free and used the transport system to my advantage. Waiting... More

We did stay in this YHA for 3 nights, the overall experience is not good compare with all other YHA hostel we stay before. The room is really disappointed, we did booked a double room and it's feeling like a jail, only one small windows, not enough fresh air, very noise in the morning outside.. The staff is nice and... What an awesome hostel. It's location is slightly far out from Surfers Paradise to walk to but there is a complimentary shuttle bus running fairly regularly in and out of town. It's located in pleasant Mariners Wharf which is actually a great escape from the crazy hustle and bustle of Surfers. It's a slightly strange layout with reception being in... More
