Just stayed 3 nights at Surfers paradise yha, can highly recommended. Location was great, right across from the beach at Main Beach. In was a bit worried about booking and being right near all the noisy night clubs and traffic but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were so great, super friendly, full of local knowledge and couldn't do enough... More

Rooms were standard and beds were mostly comfortable. Generally clean but the kitchen needs to have more space for the number of guests that are using it. Communal areas and balcony are spacious and nice. It's a shame the hostel is so far out from the main town at that cheap evening transport is hard to come by. As weer,... More

Booked a private room for 2 at this YHA and based on the pictures and real life - there's a big difference! As a previous post said, it felt like a jail. There is one small window to let the air, mosquitoes, flys and bugs in/out. 2 fans in the room. The double was 2 separate twin beds and located... More

Stayed for 3 nights before heading up north although it's located just outside surfers metropolis this was ideal if you wanted bars n clubs just had to jump on a 705 bus ,this was just across from the fantastic beach and right on the wharf and marina where you had plenty of bars n restaurants , The room I stayed... You get what you pay for with this one. Average hostel, clean rooms and bathrooms, kitchen facilities and tv. Staff were great, couldn't fault them, and always helped with any queries. Overall the hostel just needs a bit of an upgrade because it's a bit out dated, but fine for the young backpacker. However, the one negative is that the... More

Offered what a hostel could offer, and was priced accordingly. Cannot say that the rooms, the bedsheets, etc. was the cleanest I have ever seen, but you get what you pay for. We had a car and the place had good options for parking. But if you need public transport to carry you around, you have to arrange for that... More

I had such a good time on this hostel. There is all you need there: Nice place, nice people, private or share rooms, kitchen and good staff! The kitchen wasn`t clean all the time, but that bad! One of the best thing, is the bottle shop in the next door. :) It`s possible to go to city center walking about... More

My rating of 4 out of 5 is based on the hostel itself, not the location which I thought was a little far from the action in Surfers Paradise. Staff nice, friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. Communal showers and toilets were kept clean too. Easy to meet people here as I met a lot of solo travellers and everyone... More

You get what you pay for with this one. Average hostel with friendly staff. It's clean enough and in a decent location - walking distance to Sea World. Our room, a private double was clean but wasn't the best looking of rooms. Also, I would hardly call Surfers a "Paradise".
