Island backpackers is huge, they apparently have a spa area with jacuzzi and sauna, a pool and large kitchen. I didn't use any of the facilities so I can't really review them, but it's a nice bonus! It has a very central location, our room was spacious and I had nice roommates. Did not find it too noisy. The cleaning... More

However no aircon let it down too hot. The bathroom wasn't the nicest but rooms were nice and nice balcony lovely pool excellent location in the heart of everything including beaches nightclubs and shops. Beware the cleaners will take your food or alcohol if left out which was annoying

Having seen photos and read a couple of reviews, we were looking forward to our stay here, but my god were we disappointed! The pictures are clearly from a very long time ago. The whole place needs a lick of paint. The carpets are filthy and stink. There are posters on the wall from 2012. We stayed in the backpacker... More

This is a average place to stay with a good pool/spa which you can enjoy even if your not staying here an don't fancy the beach ;) it's a noisy hotel but in surfers expect nothing less. It offers good value for money and located in the heart of the city.

Islander resort was in a great spot in surfers and not too expensive. They had many amenities at the hotel if you plan a longer stay. By the time I went to sleep I needed earplugs to do so. Rooms had there own bathroom with shower. Could have been worse I guess

I stayed here by myself in a dorm with four bunk beds. At first I was a bit taken aback by the realization that my room mates would be changing everyday, but luckily that stopped after the first night anyway, and I spent all week with just me and my new kiwi / phillipino friend! We hung out, had dinners... More

Travelling the east coast of Australia at the moment so been staying in loads of hostels! This has to be one of the worst! The whole place needs closing and a total revamp! Although the majority of the staff were friendly and the general facilities on offer are quite good, there is a bad side to this hostel aswell. Carpets... More

I stayed here for the maximum time,( which is 28 days)The rooms are mostly of only 4 beds and they all have a ensuite, TV and little fridge.Their female only share rooms are great too. The pool and sauna are always full of people who meet up and chat and the lounge/common room are spacious and always tidy. The staff... More

Not Bad, stayed for 1 night as I was moving on but not bad for a backpacker and wanted only the basic of stay. good location and staff were very friendly. I was in a dorm but wasn't full but if it was it would feel cramped,
