We were disappointed in the motel room as it didn't have any windows (except a few glass blocks high up) and so it was obvious the room hadn't had any fresh air for a while, plus of course very little natural light. However it was clean and the staff were friendly. They also emailed me a few days before our... More

After 8 hours on the road I arrived at the Criterion Hotel in R/Hampton as I had pre-booked accommodation for myself and my family on our way back to Tvle. I produced my credit card and signed my check in voucher, I was then asked for my drivers license. When questioned as to why the hotel required my drivers license... More

I went to the Criterion with my husband and in laws. It has a typical small town pub vibe and I could tell it was the kind of place that could get quite rowdy late night. We sat in a booth next to the fish tank, I am personally not a fan if fish tanks particularly in restaurants but each... More

I have had meals at the Cri a few times and last night was by far my worst experience. Ordered meals for the group & was not advised there would be a bit of a wait. 75mins later we were still waiting for meals. When they finally came out, there was no apology and one of the meals (oysters kilpatrick)... More

Old traditional style hotel, has a variety of rooms of which I took the cheapest single. It has several different types of room in the main hotel building and modern motel style rooms out the back (which I did not see). My cheap room had air conditioning and shower but WC is shared. Also included a light breakfast. Has good... More

I have been astaying off and on at The Cri since 2008. It is always clean, always good value, handy to get a taxi the airport, plus has a good restaurant and bar. I enjoy the history that is associated to this hotel and personally prefer to stay upstairs in the original hotel rooms. This is a great location on... More

I stayed here a few times and loved it. Loved the friendly staff but my last stay there i felt the ghost and seen a quick qlimpse so did not stay again but did go back for a drink. I still highly recommend staying there as it is close to everything.

For the price we paid we were not impressed with the motel type accommodation We drove down and stayed 1 night then carried on our journey. The accommodation was extremely dark and felt like you were in a prison cell. There were several faults with the accommodation ie toilet continual running, taps dripping and lights not working (all these were... More

Dined at this iconic hotel in Rockhampton with family recently. Fun surroundings and outstanding steaks. Definitely a place to try. Best to book a table as its a favourite with the locals. Central location near the river.

Good motel style rooms behind the hotel proper - clean, comfortable, quiet. I have stayed for years and consider it to be of a good all rounder. The original hotel has some history through the decades. It has character and the pub part is real and the pub food is always good.
